GATE being nation's most challenging and competitive exams, has a strong impact on aspirants commitment to higher education and PSU job opportunities. According to a recent poll conducted Shiksha, has revealed candidate's GATE scores in exam. The poll states that a major pool of applicants have secured around 300 to 500. With 2734 responses in total, the results define interesting stats regarding MTech admissions and PSU recruitment.
GATE 2025 Poll Score Breakdown
- Secured 1000 GATE Score: 9%
- Between 800 to 600 Score: 19%
- 500 to 300 Score: 54%
- Below 200 Score: 9%
- Did Not Qualify: 9%
Around 9% have achieved GATE score 1000, which is relatively low.
Candidates Securing Between 500 to 300
Candidates with GATE score 300 to 500 can expect the following -
- Tier-2 NITs and IIITs: While top IITs and NITs may require 600+, institutes like NIT Silchar, NIT Patna, and others often accept scores in the 450–550 range depending on the branch and category.
- State Universities and Central Universities: Many public universities consider scores above 400 for M.Tech admissions.
