Biotechnology in kumaraguru college of technology.

Placements: More than 15 persons placed in core company, above 20 placed in IT companies and some of them are went abroad for higher studies in scholarship of our college. The highest package offered of our college is 15lakhs per annum in computer Science department. The lowest package is 3 Lacs per annum. The average package is 5 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies for my course are Biocon, bharat biotech, newco biotech and vj biotech.

Infrastructure: We have separate labs facilities for every course in our department. There are nine laboratories provided in our department. We have separate library for our department and have more than 300 books in the library. Classrooms are wide and large with good ventilation and projectors.

Faculty: Yes, the teachers were are very qualified, and knowledgeable. They are very much experienced in tier specific courses. Their presentation is enough for learning. Yes, this course curriculum relevant. Yes it make the students industry ready. The courses are embedded in our college. So it have half marks for the theory and practical. The pass percentage is 50.

Great infrastructure and campus life, unsatisfactory teaching quality.

Placements: In Biotechnology, the number of students placed in core companies are very few. Most students get placed in IT or other sectors. The average range of starting salary is 4L - 6L per annum. This year only one core company visited our department out of which only four students got selected, out of which only 1 got placed.

Infrastructure: In the department, infrastructure is quite good. Projector screen and blackboard is installed. Classrooms are big, accommodating about 55 students. Labs are decent and self projects can be done. Hostel rooms are pretty small, 4 students in one room. There is only vegetarian food provided in the mess but the taste is very good, its the best compared to other colleges.

Faculty: The professors are knowledgeable and qualified. I am not so satisfied with the quality of teaching though. The subjects are relevant and useful. The exams are quite difficult but majority pass and only few students write arrears. The lab assistants are helpful.

Other: The campus life is very good. There are many clubs and forums for students and many extracurricular activities are held too. The college promotes taking part in extracurriculars and helps the students to join any new courses or activities as well.

Absolutely satisfied because of infrastructure.

Placements: We are looking for the companies. Biotech has fewer placements and companies. We are looking for more offers. The companies that come are only looking for IT and other departments. They are not considering us since we don’t have knowledge about IT, etc. This is the status of our college.

Infrastructure: My college is filled with good infrastructure. It consists of 24/7 Wi-Fi connection, and the labs are more useful and have all the equipment so that, students could be benefited. The library that contains more than 3000 books. Also, the campus is surrounded by medical facilities.

Faculty: The faculty are well-talented, and the curriculum is a bit confusing since they change it every year. The teaching methods are smart teaching, and some of the things are taught practically. There are many things are available. We don’t get industry exposure.

Other: Every year, in Feb 2nd week, there will be college a cultural fest, and many events will be going on in between the college working days.

The college has very nice infrastructure and facilities. Enjoyable college events.

Placements: The average package offered in our course is 4 to 5 LPA. Students in our course get internships at AstraZeneca and AIIMS in Delhi. The college also provides conclaves to meet industry persons to know more about the industry. The placement percentage in our course is 85- 90%.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities offered by our college are very good. Wi-Fi is available in lecture halls, the auditorium, the library, the place called Orb, and the hostel. The hostel mess food is very nice but only vegetarian (including eggs). The college has a clinic inside and provides a 24/7 ambulance facility. Labs and classrooms are very neat.

Faculty: Faculty members teach us very well. They are very knowledgeable and helpful with our projects and paper presentations. They clear our doubts and help us know our interests. The exams are moderate and test how deeply we understand the course. Around 95 percent of students pass.

Other: The campus events and fests are really enjoyable. They provide scholarships. There are also extracurricular clubs, including sports and educational ones. The campus surroundings are very nice.
