Biotech in REC- how things actually move and work here.
Placements: The placements are great. Almost 95% placement was achieved this year, and an average package of 9 LPA from companies such as Biocon and Avigen. The top roles offered include Food Safety Officer, Bioprocessing Works, etc. Many faculty members help a lot with placements. Several of them have worked in the field and have alumni contacts in leading companies.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is nice, with everything needed, such as labs, classrooms, and a playground. Even a gym and swimming pool have been added for hostel students. The hostel is a bit troublesome, like every other typical college hostel, with average food and rooms.
Faculty: Faculty is great and supportive of our careers. They maintain ethics properly. Exams and coursework are up to date and properly maintained. The curriculum and subject notes are provided in both handwritten and printed form. They are useful. There is also a library where students can borrow books for their convenience.

Good choice for your future.
Placements: 95% of the students are placed every year and that number keeps increasing every year. The highest package is about 9 LPA for freshers, and even more is about 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Infosys, TCS, Mahindra, Zifo, etc. Many students—up to 80% of the students—get internships.
Infrastructure: There are good laboratories for different fields, and many equipments are there. Good Wi-Fi connections, classrooms with recordings to view later, and a neat and clean library are available. The labs are equipped with ACs. The hostel facility is appreciated for its neat and clean mess and laundry service.
Faculty: Teachers are really very helpful and motivate us a lot. They are extremely knowledgeable in their own fields. The curriculum is updated and is more useful for jobs. The semester exams are challenging and make us ready for industries and jobs. Our curriculum is all updated with a lot of practical knowledge and hands-on training. A new biofilm and molecular lab is built.
Other: Recharge fest is the best every year.

Placements: Almost 95% of our students are placed through the placement in top companies. All the top companies are in our placement line-up. Companies like Cognizant and Infosys are top recruiting companies. Almost 80% of students get internships from our course and get placed with the same company.

Faculty: Good and helpful teachers. All the faculty members support us with guidance and support. The syllabus is relevant to our curriculum. The teaching quality is completely good, and three CAT exams are conducted as mock tests to prepare the students for the semester. 45 out of 100 is the pass percentage.
Other: Recharge is conducted every year.

Good placements at decent packages were offered.
Placements: Above 80% were placed in my batch. The lowest package is 2 LPA, and the highest package is 15 LPA. The packages are based on the companies. So clear arrears within the final year so you can afford high packages. TCL, INFOSYS, WIPRO, Amazon, etc. were companies recruiting students every year.
Infrastructure: The college has adopted many green cover initiatives, thereby enriching the ambience of the campus. Security personnel were assigned duties to ensure restricted entry into the college. But hostel facilities are the worst. So I request students not to join hostels in case you can try a homestay nearby.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly and well-qualified. They teach several times without any hesitation, so students can easily clarify their doubts. The semester exams are not complicated; the students conduct tests and exams on a regular basis. So each and every student has focused on their syllabus.
Other: I chose information technology (IT) because I'm interested in the IT field.

Review of Rajalakshmi Engineering College.
Placements: 90% of students who opted for placements got placed on campus. The highest package is 12 Lacs per annum from Flipkart, and the lowest package was 3 Lacs per annum. TCS, CTS, Wipro, Accenture, Zoho, Zifo, etc., come here. I'm not sure about it. But many got into international internships, and the college provides the necessary support.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available with 1 GB free per day. According to me, the lab facilities for biotechnology are not sufficient enough. But not too bad, we have a satisfactory level of amenities. Classrooms are very spacious and comfortable. The college doesn't provide good food. You need to get food from the canteen or bring it from home. You don't get non-veg food except for eggs inside the campus. But food is good in canteens too.
Faculty: I would give five stars to the department of biotechnology because we have really very friendly and approachable staff who are really ready to help us in all the way they could. Most of the teachers from our department are PhD holders. The course curriculum is absolutely fine, and we have an innovation and design thinking paper where we can think about our final year project and also develop a prototype in 3rd year itself. Semester examinations are a bit challenging yet very helpful to maximize our knowledge.
Other: I'm a great fan of biology and hence came into biotechnology. Our course is completely application-oriented, where we have lots to explore. I wish chemical engineering is removed from the syllabus. Events, fests and sports are really appreciated. We have AC buses to travel, which is an add-on.

It provides good faculty members, and the placements are also good.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is 7.5 LPA. The average salary pacakge offered ranges from 3.5 LPA - 4 LPA. Students will get trained for placements from their 5th semester. The majority of the students get placed in IT sectors than their department-related jobs, and hardly 2-3 biotech companies visit our college for recruitments.
Infrastructure: In this college, only vegetarian food is available in the canteen. The quality of food is not good. Laboratories are well-equipped. There are enough laboratories for students to practice. Our college has a good sports team and a large playground. Wi-Fi is available on the campus, but it's of no use, and no proper range. Hostel food is also not good.
Faculty: The quality of teaching is unmatched. The curriculum is perfectly designed. This is an autonomous college. Our semester grades are based on students' internals and externals. It is easy to score good grades here. They are affiliated with Anna University.
Other: There is no form of entertainment or cultural on campus. Only once were the cultural held and it was back in 2019. It provides scholarships to students. If students find the right set of friends then their college life was enjoyable. Students can never bunk classes here. There was one cafe coffee day outlet on our campus and that's where students go when they bunk classes. Bunking was difficult here, and the college was situated on the outer of Chennai.

It provides good placements and transport facilities.
Placements: About 10% of the students got placed in our batch in a core company. But in our course, only a few companies visit the college for placements. Companies only hire 10-15 students. The salary package offered is 4 LPA. All the students can get placed in IT companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro, and Accenture with a salary package that ranges from 3-7 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities in our course are pretty good. It has all laboratory facilities with proper training staff members. The hostel is not up to the level. The quality of the food served is not good. Medical and sports facilities are good. Wi-Fi and libraries are available, and they are good.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very friendly, and they help us well in academics. Every teacher is qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Industrial visits are often conducted. Semester exams are easy to clear, but it is difficult to get high grades. The pass percentage is about 90%.
Other: Our course is available only in a few colleges, so I have chosen it. The best thing about our course is it has all the lab facilities. I hope the college should improve placements in our course. Many events are conducted here. Scholarships are also available here. The campus is eco-friendly.

Placements are good, but infrastructure and courses are not good.
Placements: I am from the 2019 batch of the biotech course. Almost 70% of the students got placements in our department, and the average salary package offered is 3-4 LPA. Top recruiting companies of our college are Wipro, CTS and Zoho. Many final-year students get two job offers, and they are deciding which company they want to work for. Getting into core companies is tough.
Infrastructure: Only the tech lounge and admin blocks are great here, but other blocks are the worst. Hostel and mess are the worst part, and even canteen food is not that good with much spiciness. You can only have packed food and instant noodles. The library is good, and they have all the reference books you need during the course.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. The course curriculum is totally irrelevant to the core as most of the subjects are based on fermentor, fluid mechanics and bioprocess. Still, the core company offered here is pharmaceutical. Semester exams are easy here. There are three internal assessment exams named CAT exams in every semester. Before entering the semester, you would get to know about all the important questions.
Other: Non-teaching staff members are not that friendly here. If you want to get anything done with them, they won't let you so easily.
