Review of Lady Brabourne College.

Placements: We don't get placements from B.Sc. Honours course. As this is a purely Physics-based course. You can get placements if you get a technical degree from other colleges. You can study Masters from here or other colleges. There are so many options available. But only B.Sc. Honours will not get you placed.

Infrastructure: As Lady Brabourne College is a DST-star college, the infrastructure and facilities are greater than most. The lab equipment is modern and up-to-date. There are Wi-Fi available. We have AC and non-AC classrooms. The library is a good source of books for your course. There are 3 canteens here. The food available is great. Only the washrooms are not that great; they are smelly and dirty. Otherwise, this college is very good overall.

Faculty: The teachers here are greatly qualified, and they show the utmost interest in our exam preparation. They are very helpful and overall a great source of knowledge. The semester exam level is above average. Almost 17 to 18 students per 21 students pass each semester.

Other: The campus life is not that great if you look for lively and fun college life. The extracurricular events are not that much available like other colleges. Education-wise, this college is good.

I had a great experience in the college.

Placements: There are no placements in our college. Higher education is only promoted in our college. No companies visit the campus. The placements are not offered to any department. Teachers encourage us only to go for higher education.

Infrastructure: The campus is huge. Classrooms are very big. We have everything available in our college. We have Wi-Fi, laboratories, auditorium, medical facilities, and stationery. The playground is large. We have a very big common room, which has all the gym equipment.

Faculty: The teachers are highly educated and very supportive. They are very enthusiasts and always encourage us in everything. They arrange workshops for us. They are very well prepared to teach us, and they teach us properly. They are also very friendly.

Other: Annual sports and fests are held in the college.

Faculty: The teachers are highly educated, and they have good knowledge of the subject they teach. They are very helpful. They always encourage us. They provide proper education and knowledge. All the teachers have completed their PhDs. They are very enthusiastic, and they encourage the students to participate in all activities.

Quite satisfied, because of the environment and the faculty.

Placements: There are no arrangements for campusing made as such as it is an honours course. But the students are offered good opportunities with substantial knowledge and the basics cleared which helps to pursue higher studies or implement it in the professional world.

Infrastructure: The laboratory is good. All the experiments as per the schedule are covered. Each student gets the opportunity to work and learn separately, as well as to learn the team spirit. The instruments are well-maintained with sufficient space in the laboratory.

Faculty: All the professors hold a doctorate degree in the subject, and the laboratory attendant is helpful. The syllabus is as per the University of Calcutta, and the teaching faculty are co-operative. Examinations are quite regular with prompt checking and returning of the answer sheet.

I had a wonderful time in the college.

Placements: The college doesn't have a placement cell. They mostly promoted higher education. No placement was offered to the students of any course. The internships were encouraged. Students' interaction was also supported. We were taken for industrial visits to get exposure.

Infrastructure: The college provides all the facilities including Wi-Fi, library, table tennis, medical facilities, and stationery. A huge auditorium is available. One of the best attractions is the cafeteria, and the food provided was very healthy and tasty. The whole campus is properly cleaned and maintained.

Faculty: The faculty members are highly educated. They were very supportive to us. They have good knowledge about the subjects they teach. Every problem and doubts were solved. They were very caring. Our decisions were supported, and we were always encouraged.

Other: The fest was held once a year and so was the sports fest. Debates and quiz were a regular phenomenon.

The faculty and facilities in the college are very satisfactory.

Placements: The college doesn't provide placements for the students of any course. The college provides opportunities to the students for internships in any preferred companies. Research is mainly promoted in our department as the faculty members believe that the students can gain in-depth knowledge only through higher education. Research ideas of the stduents were encouraged in our department.

Infrastructure: The campus is beautiful with all the facilities including Wi-fi, laboratories, libraries and medical facilities. The common room is properly equipped with all the gym equipment, table tennis and badminton facilities. An auditorium is available where every intercollegiate competition, debates and quizzes are held.

Faculty: Every faculty is highly educated and have proper knowledge of the subjects they teach. Presentations are mostly used for teaching accompanied by research papers and their summarised notes. Laboratories are updated and well-equipped. We were taken for industrial visits once a year to get exposure.

Other: A fest is organised once a year, in which the students of different colleges participate in the different activities that are conducted. Workshops, debates and quizzes are also held in alternate months.

Ranked as number one college under the University of Calcutta.

Placements: Very few companies come for placements with BPO type job profile. Most of the students opt for higher education or government jobs. Placement cell does exist but fails to function. Overall, the placement scenario is really bad. Just TCS came in 2016, and none of the companies came in 2017. Although our batch tried starting with the internship culture, and it didn't turn out that well because most of the students were mostly interested in higher studies and not just undergrad. Usually, you get decent placement after postgraduation in Calcutta University.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is amazing. The college had well-connected Wi-Fi, labs have all the required equipment. There's almost every possible relevant book in the library. The librarian is friendly and helpful, and medical facilities are also there to some extent. Sports is held once a year and all the sports equipment is easily available in the common room. The canteen is decent. I personally loved mocha chop and coffee there. There's a new building coming up as well, that's even more beautiful and cannot forget the lovely auditorium and gallery sits. P. S. common rooms walls provide the best background for any photoshoot.

Faculty: The teachers were well informed and knowledgeable. Most of them were PhD degree holders. They were approachable and can be relied upon completely for university exams as well. Tuition was not required as such, but many students still preferred it. The presentation was used along with the teaching on the board. Assignment submission needs to be on time. Few teachers are strict about the deadline. The student to faculty ratio is 40:1.

Other: Kaleidoscope is the major fest for LBC. Apart from that, there is intra college fest, sports day, and other activities going on from time to time. Check the notice board regularly for these events. Few scholarships are also given to deserving and meritorious students. A park is just opposite to our college and has become our unofficial place.

The faculty is satisfactory, and the campus is good. The placements are not good.

Placements: There is a career counselling department, but mainly it is used for official work. No such placement records are there in the college. Neither does any company visit to recruit students. There is a very few scope for job recruitment directly from the institution. People can do the internships in holidays, and secure placement offers from there.

Infrastructure: The campus is quite big and spacious, but the co-curricular activities are not given importance. There is no such ground for sports. The library is well-equipped with books, but the person dealing with students is not very cooperative. The labs are far better when compared to other Calcutta University colleges. Technology wise the college is quite outdated to date. The internet connectivity is really bad. There are no medical facilities in the college. There is a dearth of classrooms for the physics department.

Faculty: I can only comment on the physics department. One of the worst faculty members is there in that. It is not cooperative, not helpful and very demotivating. Their teaching methods are really old, and no such knowledge gain is there. Only mug up and write exams is what they want. No outside knowledge is given, and no interesting information is provided or taught to the students.

Other: Very less exposure is given to the students. The fests are even cancelled for some years. The students mainly come from rural areas. The college is very academic centric and not fun at all. The scholarships are there for the students who are coming from a poor background.
