Delhi University - Worth the hype?

Placements: I do not know if there are any placement opportunities for the course that I have opted which is B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science. But at the same time, this course is helpful for competitive exams like the civil services, etc. Moreover, I am not aware of the current trend of placements happening in the college as I am a first-year student who took admission in 2024.

Infrastructure: The most important reason why I chose this college is because of its infrastructure. I guess the college has the best infrastructure among all the colleges of Delhi University. My college has a vast library offering hundreds of books and lots of space for reading and studying. The college is well-equipped with Wi-Fi which has a range all over the campus. The college also has a gym for both girls and boys and places for indoor games like table tennis, carroms, chess, etc.

Faculty: Faculty members in my college who teach this course are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. Their vast expertise in political theories, government policies, and international relations has made the learning process not only comprehensive but also deeply insightful. Political Science. (Hons.) course is relevant for many competitive exams like civil services, etc. Semester exams are conducted by the university and they are moderate.

There are no placements but very good faculty and infrastructure are provided.

Placements: Thus college does not provide any sort of placements in this course especially. There is a placement cell but nothing much is provided through it also they might guide you for internships but you need to look for out-campus placements and opportunities.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure if compared with other colleges of the university will be one of the best. There is a working gym, classrooms, and washrooms with proper sanitation. A good canteen and sports ground are there. Labs are well functioning. A very big auditorium as well as a media lab are provided.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and qualified. Most of them are either Ph.D. scholars or double Ph.D. The faculty is very helpful and knowledgeable. You get plenty of courses to choose from GE sec and vac. It provides a lot of ground-level knowledge, boosting the confidence and intellect of students.

College Insights: Reviewing Life at Maharaja Agrasen College.

Placements: Placements are handled by the college Training and Placement Cell. Wipro, Toppr, Oxane, TCS, Byju's, ICICI Prudential, and L&T are the main partners for placements, according to the 2022 Training and Placement Cell’s report. Various internships were offered by the Training and Placement Cell. The main partners were COOX, INGLU, Apna Campus, Flipkart, Upskillz, etc.

Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very good. There is a big library on the second floor of the college. In the library, there is a wide range of books and journals available. Wi-Fi facility is available on the college campus. On the ground floor of the college, there is a canteen offering a wide variety of food. There is also a large ground for sports for students.

Faculty: The faculty staff is very knowledgeable and qualified. The curriculum of BA (Hons.) Political Science is very relevant. There are three main Discipline-Specific Core (DSC) subjects. The semester exams were easy to pass. You only require 40% in theory exams and 40% in internal assessment separately.

Other: BA (Hons.) Political Science is a very demanding course at the University of Delhi. This course is very realistic in nature and highly relevant in today’s Indian context. The college has NCC, NSS, and many sports and extracurricular activities.

There should be a hostel for boys too. Overall, the facilities and infrastructure are the best.

Placements: The average salary package in this college is 4 LPA as per sources. Being a student of political science hons, there are no placements for this course. Other courses like English Honours and Journalism Honours provide you with good placement opportunities.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is the best among other DU colleges. Library and auditorium are the likeable part of this college. There is a separate conference room and a medical room. There is a common room for girls where they can take a break and feel relaxed.

Faculty: Teachers are really appreciative of this college. Faculty members of my course Political Science Honours are good and supportive. The difficulty level of exams is not that much. Students can score good marks on average if they attend classes seriously.

Other: I chose this course because it is related to my career and I am also interested in it. The campus crowd is not too much. There is basically a peaceful environment in and outside the college.

Really good infrastructure and facilities, Teacher are very friendly in nature and corporative.

Placements: There are so many students in Political Science Honours course and the average package of my course is 2 Lacs. Many students pursuing this course because of their interest in politics and to become civil servants in future. Top roles offered in my course are Civil servants, Politicians, Bureaucrats, Judges etc.

Infrastructure: This college provides excellent labs, classrooms and library facilities. There are separate departments of political Science Honours and Air conditioner is also available in all labs. Library provides a safe and peaceful environment for your study without any disturbance.

Faculty: The teaching quality of Maharaja Agrasen College is excellent and all teachers are very helpful, well qualified and knowledgeable. There are so many doubts classes. This course curriculum is relevant to make the students industry ready. Semester exams are not very difficult, all students pass easily.

Other: I chose this course because of my interest and to become a civil servant.
