Maitreyi College is full of vibes.
Placements: Maitreyi College organises a placements and internships fair every year. Many small businesses and companies come to conduct interviews for students, but it is access to all courses and years. That's why it decreases chances of getting internships for particularly in the third year, or having a course like Bachelor of Arts. The placement cell provides internships throughout the whole tenure. Mostly, they are unpaid.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well designed and are according to the strengths of students. They are well ventilated with good desks. The library is a good place to sit and study when we have no classes. The campus is also very nice. Someone can sit in the lap of nature and enjoy it. The college organises a competition where students can showcase their talent. It provides multiple opportunities to know our potential and work for our betterment.
Faculty: Both the Economics and English faculty members are good. They provide notes and assistance during exams. They provide chances to reappear for the test in case if we miss. Sometimes, it becomes hard to manage continuous assessment and internal assessment. It is like a headache for students. That's why students cannot be able to join other part courses or prepare for the government exams. Staff members are respectful and helpful.
Other: The campus is excellent. There is greenery everywhere. During the spring season, we can experience different types of flowers.

Highly satisfied with my college, great infrastructure and environment, and it is safe for girls.
Placements: I'm currently a third-year student, and I feel the placement cell of my college is great. We have many internship opportunities through the placement cell. And it even provides placement opportunities to students. I have done an internship. Students get placements in good companies like Paytm, etc.
Infrastructure: The hostel and infrastructure of my college are good, the classes are spacious and clean, well lit. The library is good and well-managed. Wi-Fi works great in the whole college. Just a little negative review about the canteen. The food provided there is sometimes not good or clean.
Faculty: The staff is good and helpful. Some teachers even take extra classes to help students. I believe there should be more curriculum to make students industry-ready. Semester-end exams are moderately difficult. My college has a high pass percentage of around 90%.
Other: The fests in my college are so good. Safety is maintained for girls.

Fests are the best part of college life.
Placements: There are not many placement opportunities for the B.A. program. The course itself has really few opportunities. In addition, placements are taken by B.Com (Hons) or some students of B.A. (Hons), specifically if students are from a language background in any college, be it DU or another.
Infrastructure: There are improvements needed in some parts, like an old block. Some parts are amazing, like a new Science block, library, or labs in any building.
Faculty: Teachers in some departments are not great. Other faculty members are amazing. Specifically, faculty members of the English department are amazing. Each teacher is amazing, and they know what they have to do and how to deal with the syllabus and students in the best way possible.

Everything is good. The college is good and it's a girls college so that's a plus point for girls.
Placements: The placement cell of the college is good; many companies visit the college for campus recruitment but the most disappointing thing is there is less to no recruitment of B.A. program students. Most of the recruiters are of B.Com. honours or other honours courses.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is the best, with typically DU red walls and perfect architecture. The hostel infrastructure is very good. The campus is not at all Wi-Fi enabled, so that's a negative point. The classrooms are good, especially the newly made science block. The classrooms are big.
Faculty: The teachers are somewhat helpful, but there are very few teachers who take initiative for the student learning by helping them solve PYQs; semester exams are kind of tough. Pass percentage, I don't know, but 7 CGPA is considered good and the more the merrier.
Other: I chose this subject as I was interested in economics and English both.

Amazing friendly environment of college and societies.
Placements: B.A. Programme English+ Economics students usually don't go for placements because this course provides you knowledge for the government exams like UPSC, SSC, CPO, etc. But still there were some students who got placed in companies like Bajaj because of their Economics and English skills in literature.
Infrastructure: Economics classes used to happen in the most beautiful and the largest classroom of the college. The view outside the class was great and beautiful. B.A. programme English + Economics classes were conducted in the main building of the college campus.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful and extremely informative but the timing gap between the two classes of the course was too long and tiring. The exams time table of the course was about one month long. We were the last ones to finish our exams in the entire college.
Other: This course will help you in your preparation for the Government exams and will develop your skills.

Q:   Can students with a minimum cutoff for B Sc. get a seat at Maitreyi College?
    A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, let me first explain the concept of cutoff and then answer your query for easy understanding of the whole issue. Because of its standing amongst the students Maitreyi college gets a large number of students who are seeking admission. The admissions are actually controlled by Delhi University through its portal designed specifically for admissions to different colleges which are affiliated to it. In such a scenario if a student with very less percentile applies to Maitri then that student is bound to get disappointed when he will not get this college of a choice. To avoid this from happening and also to avoid having false hopes of admission Maitreyi college announces cutoffs on its website for every round of admission. This actually is for the information of students so that those who have scored less than the cut of need not attempt admission because their chances of getting admission are next to nil. This also helps students in identifying an alternate college and giving that as the first choice. This definitely does not mean that anyone having the percentile of cutoff is going to get admission but it's only an indicator that there is some possibility or probability of getting admission.

Now to answer your query. For student with minimum cut off for BSc, which has been declared by the college, normally are not likely to get admission because many more students who have more percentile, are going to compete for the limited seats available in this college.

    Best wishes to you.

    AskShikshaGPT on App
Q:   Can I get direct admission for the BCom programme at Maitreyi College?
    A:

No, students cannot get direct admission to the BCom programme available at Maitreyi College. Admission is based on merit through CUET. For registration, candidates have to sign up for the accepted entrance exam and appear for it, followed by the CSAS counselling process. All this assures that the selection of the students will be fair and transparent, which results from the performance in the entrance test conducted by the NTA. There is no direct entry in the BCom course provided by Maitreyi College. Candidates interested in this course are allowed for admission only through the registration and application process via CUET.
