B.A. in Economics - Batch of 2027

The campus life is bright, with many extracurricular opportunities.
Placements: Mithibai College has a Training and Placement Cell that offers internships from the second year itself. It trains students in industry-specific skills as well as soft skills. There are multiple opportunities to upgrade yourself and make yourself more employable. Top companies like JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Infosys, and Tata are common recruiters.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really good. There is a centralized AC system and multiple lifts. There are biometric scanners linked to student ID cards, making the campus safe and accessible. The library is clean and well-stocked. It is a comfortable place to study. There is a gymkhana and many other facilities.
Faculty: The class depends largely on the professor and their teaching. There is a mix of experienced and junior professors. However, everyone seems to make an effort and is helpful. The syllabus is competitive and deals with a wide range of topics. For economics, there is a good blend of theory and quantitative material. There are special courses dedicated to quantitative concepts.
Other: The economics department is helpful and experienced. They are eager to assist students in any kind of research and always try to bring more opportunities. There could be more hands-on approaches to the learning process.

Honest Mithibai College Review.
Placements: I've not yet passed out of the college. But my seniors did get placed. The training and placement cell of the college provides much information about internships and job opportunities for the students of all the courses. But most likely, B.Com, B.M., and B.Sc. have more chances of getting placed in the college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college provides a suitable place for all the courses to take place within the building. Though the building is small and there's a large number of students in it, it's quite congested. Although, the best part of the college is the canteen. The food is very good.
Faculty: The faculty is very qualified and experienced. Also, the curriculum is inclusive, informative, and interesting. Under NEP, our college has tried to integrate almost every subject possible for us to study. We study almost 7-8 subjects each semester.
Other: The course that I chose is an integrated one where I can go with Economics Honours or I can do B.A. normally as an Economics major and minor subjects. Mithibai provides better information than other colleges, and the course design is quite unique for someone who is new to it. Initially, the curriculum is a bit overwhelming to take and study, but as you get used to it, it will get easier.

It provides very good infrastructure and curriculum, and it is value for money.
Placements: Around 60% of students are placed at graduation. The highest salary package offered is 15 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Most financial services firms and banks are the companies that give placements to students. Finance and budget analyst, economist, investment administrator, and market analyst are the roles offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. It provides a library and canteen which are well maintained. It is a 9 floored building with elevators for a convenient commute. There is no hostel facility, but there are good private hostels around the campus in the Juhu area.
Faculty: The maximum number of teachers have received a doctorate. The course curriculum is designed by this college itself and is tweaked to the relevance of the students. It is different than this university curriculum. The semester exams are easy, and very few i.e 5% of students fail the exams.
Other: Mithibai provides students with excellent campus life with one of the biggest college fests in Mumbai Kshitij, and the canteen is good to bust students' stress.

Our college has the best infrastructure, good teaching staff members and a great quality canteen.
Placements: I am a student of the batch of 2019-2020 and had pursued 3 years of bachelor in arts B.A degree from Mithibai. I did my majors in the 3rd year in sociology. Only 20% of the students were placed from here. The highest salary offered is Rs. 30,000 per month, and the average salary offered is Rs. 15,000 per month. The lowest salary offered is Rs. 5,000 per month. Top recruiting companies here are TISS and Tata. About 10% of the students got internships in TISS. Top roles offered here are a social worker and a social researcher.
Infrastructure: Both facilities and infrastructure are fabulous here. There is a good Wi-Fi facility, well furnished, clean and air-conditioned classrooms and a huge library. The quality of facilities provided is also great. The canteen is the best in terms of food services and hygiene with the best and most affordable rates. There is good medical treatment. There are a lot of indoor gaming activities such as table tennis, carrom, chess, but there is no ground for outdoor activities.
Faculty: Teachers here are usually very helpful and knowledgeable in their subjects. They are highly qualified with a lot of experience in the field and give good quality teaching. The course curriculum is relevant with intense research and presentations. It makes students industry-ready.

I am satisfied with college because of infrastructure and faculty members.
Placements: Placements for arts background have very little scope. Placements in good companies are not possible. Students need to do some extra co-curricular activities to get good placements. Even companies like Deloitte, and DataMatrix are looking for candidates from IT, and finance backgrounds.
Infrastructure: Mithibai is known for its infrastructure, its buzz and also it is known for its huge canteen which serves delicious lip-smacking food. Our college has well-equipped laboratories and libraries. They have a gymkhana for sports, and there is an emergency room for girls. The college also has a first-aid room.
Faculty: Teachers in our course are highly qualified. They come well-prepared before delivering the lectures. But however, I feel the course curriculum should be based more on practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge. The curriculum doesn't prepare a student for an industry.
Other: I opted for this course because I wanted to learn about humanities and want to develop a humanistic perspective towards society. I feel bringing a practical approach to the curriculum would be beneficial for the upcoming students. Apart from that, Mithibai has a great campus and even the crowd is great. It is easy to connect with anyone in the college. Mithibai has various social clubs where one can take part in. They have a literary society, Rotaract club, students council, debate team, etc. One can learn many things from Mithibai apart from the curriculum.

I am satisfied with this college.
Placements: Almost 70% of the TYBA psychology branch got placed. About 45 students got selected from the unaided batch and 45 students from the aided batch of psychology. Usually, psychologists have to do masters, and then they get good placements.
Infrastructure: The library has tons of books, and the facilities provided even during the pandemic situation is far better. Students have access through SVKM consortia databases to many educational books and articles for their project work. The infrastructure of the classroom is very good. Food served in the canteen is average, but not so good.
Faculty: Faculty members in our department are far better. They are friendly. They provide help whenever necessary, and they are great guides. The course curriculum is a bit hectic, but it examines the students for good. They provide in-depth knowledge of the subject. They also develop our practical skills.
Other: Faculty members made me choose this course.

There are good placements in college.
Placements: There is a placement cell in our college. Almost 65% of the students get placed. The highest package offered is 4 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 1.5 LPA. The profiles offered are sales, business research, data entry, etc. Deloitte and JP Morgan are the companies visit the college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent. There is a Wi-Fi facility in the college, and there are spacious classrooms. There is a library which has many books, and they also provide Wi-Fi in the library. There are games like tennis, football and badminton. There is excellent food quality, and they maintain hygiene so that students can be healthy and fit.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, well qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is understandable. The student and faculty ratio is 3:7, and the course curriculum is useful. The course is helpful in future. We did not get industry exposure, and the experienced teachers provide teaching methods.
Other: Kshitij is the event conducted in our college, which is one of the most prominent fests in our college. The campus crowd is excellent. The college provides scholarships.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of placements. However, faculty and facilities are good.
Placements: There were no such placements provided in our college. There were internship offers and other small opportunities, but there were no major or huge opportunities or chances to get permanent jobs as such, at least for arts students. But the students of other courses were provided placements.
Infrastructure: Our college has very good infrastructure, but the problem is that construction goes on for a long time which leads to a disturbance in our studies during the college period. Overall, it's still pretty good and convenient to travel from one floor to another.
Faculty: There are many faculty members in our college including high-grade staff and other helping staff. They come together as a team to help us and make things very friendly and helpful to everyone. This leads to a student's good performance and high scores in every field.
Other: Events like Kshitij, Vaayu, and Colosseum are organised in the college. The campus crowd is great. The campus is good.

Hey there, Yes, you can definitely get in. Their minimum requirement is for the student to pass grade 12th from a recognised board of education with the respective subject scoring an aggregate of at least 45%. I hope you get in. Good luck.
