For B.Tech. admissions at MLR Institute of Technology, the following entrance exam scores are accepted:

1. TS EAMCET (Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test): This is the first examination for the B.Tech admissions for students of Telangana.

2. JEE Mains: While some of the seats may be filled on the basis of the JEE Main score particularly those candidates who belong to other states other than Telangana.

MLR Institute of Technology can be categorized under the second tier of technical institutions in the country of India. It has provided a good record of engineering study programs, especially in the region of Telangana. It may be quite difficult to gain admission into MLR Institute of Technology mainly because the institution is accredited to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, and has been autonomous since the year 2015. The other minimum cut off requirement is 50 % for the 10+2 examination and the major entry test is TS EAMCET. For instance, the closing ranks for the general category in the B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering course were approximately 20,256 in the year, 2023. Hence though not one of the toughest to crack, a good rank in TS EAMCET is very important.

The TS EAMCET Counselling 2025 will be conducted in three phases, namely Phase 1, Phase 2, and the Final Phase, for admission into BE/BTech/BPharma courses by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and will be managed by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH).
