IIT Delhi MDes Eligibility & Highlights 2024
At the PG level, IITD offers a full-time MDes programme across one specialisation only. The programme is offered for a duration of two years. IIT Delhi MDes admissions are based on valid CEED scores. It is an all-India-level entrance exam, conducted by IIT Bombay, comprising a screening test and an interview round. The institute has introduced a new programme, Master of Public Policy (MPP) for a two-year duration in full-time mode with a focus on Science, Technology & Innovation (STI) and Development at the School of Public Policy. Admission to the programme is based on a written test/ oral exam, followed by a PI round.

50 students received domestic offers with package more than INR 1 crore per annum during the IIT Delhi placement drive 2023. Further, the highest international package offered during IIT Delhi placements 2023 stood at INR 2.5 crore per annum.
IIT Delhi admission is entrance-based for all the programmes (Except for PG Diploma). For the diploma course, selection is done merit-basis. Candidates who have passed Class 12 can apply for the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi undergraduate courses. More details around the admission process of some of the courses are provided below:
- Candidates, who have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with an aggregate of 75% or above, can appear for JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced and JoSAA Counselling to seek BTech admission at IIT Delhi.
- Admission to MTech course is based on merit in GATE exam followed by GOAP counselling.
- For MSc, aspirants need to apply with a valid score of IIT JAM and selected candidates have to further go through CCMN counselling.
Yes, some of the hostels of IIT Delhi are air-conditioned. However, non-air-conditioned hostels are also available. The hostels are allotted to the students based on availability. Some lecture theatres are also air-conditioned. Apart from this, some common areas on the campus or hostel also have air conditioning or air coolers.
The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering is 118 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Delhi - Indian Institute of Technology.

No, you cannot get admission to the Indian Institute of Technology IIT Delhi with CUET scores. IIT Delhi admits students on the basis of national-level engineering entrance exams. IIT Delhi BTech admission 2026 is based on JEE Advanced scores. Though the institute records high cutoffs every year, with adequate preparation, anyone can seek admission to its BTech programme. Candidates need to be thorough with their Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus to crack the exam. The students must have a valid score in JoSAA. Also, for similar top-notch or tier 1 BTech colleges such as IITs, NITs and IIITs, the pattern of the entrance for BTech is the same.
No, admission to the IIT Delhi courses is entrance-based, except for PG Diploma course. There is no provision for direct admission. However, for IIT Delhi MTech admission, the institute offers direct admission to candidates with an overall CGPA of 8.00 out of 10. Candidates taking admission must first check the eligibility criteria. Students should fill all the details carefully and as per official documents. IITD accept application forms in online mode. It must also be submitted on or before the application end date. The steps for IITD MDes application are:
