Candidate must have passed 10th or 10+2 from a recognized board with 3/ 4 years diploma recognized by AICTE/ AIU/ UGC or a State Board of Technical Education in Fashion / Apparel / Textile and Accessories/ Home Science/ Handloom Technology/ Products/ Visual Communication/ Graphic Design/ Industrial Design/ Interior Design/ Multimedia Design/ Apparel Technology/ Leather. Candidates who have completed 2 years regular UG Diploma program at NIFT can also apply. Maximum age limit for candidates belong to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribe/ Differently Abled Person (PHP) category is 29 years.

Entrance Test
Eligible candidates need to appear for the written test that is General Ability Test (GAT) conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology.
Studio Test
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Studio Test based on the score obtained in GAT.
Personal Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview based on the score obtained in Studio Test.
Final Selection
Candidates are selected based on GAT and Studio Test score and performance in personal interview. Selection parameters and weightages: General Ability Test (GAT): 40% Studio Test: 40% Interview: 20%
