Basic NTA NIFT Personal Interview Questions you should know

Some of the basic interview questions that you must know are

1. Introduce yourself.

This is the most common question that is asked in the interview. The panel does not have any knowledge about you. They just know your name and score. Through this interview, they want to know about your background, qualifications, city, state, etc. Start by telling your name, the city you belong to, anything special about that city, tell them about your graduation, schooling, board, and percentage scored. Briefly explain about your parents and their profession.

Also add about your internship or certification courses which you have done, your role, how long it was, what you learned, etc. Be prepared with the answers to these.

2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Be aware of your strengths and weaknesses. The panel wants to know how your strengths can be helpful in the design industry and the institution. Give 2-3 strengths. Name one weakness. Also, tell them what you are doing to overcome the weakness.

3. What are your hobbies?

Talk about your hobbies. Hobbies cannot be many. They can be one or two. Know in detail about your hobby. For example, if you say that your hobby is travelling, you know the details about the places where you have travelled, the 5 best hill stations or sea beaches, restaurants there, local food, language spoken, etc.

4. What do you want to do after completing your design programme?

Be prepared with the answer to this question. If you want to do a job, know about the fashion industry, top brands, designers, fashion magazines, trends, etc. If you want to be an entrepreneur and start your own business, then which business do you want to open, what will be your targeted customers, and what material will you use? You should know the names of at least the top 5 brands that produce similar products, luxury brands under that category, designers, etc.

5. What are the Majors and the minors for the programmes?

Know the majors and the minors for the programme you are opting for. Why you have chosen this programme, what are the career opportunities related to it, what industries you can work in, etc., should be known to you.
