M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2023
3.2
It is not a good college to pursue M.Tech.
Placements: Hardly 10% of placements are provided on campus. The highest package offered is nearly 7 LPA, and the lowest package is 5 LPA. The average package is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Saint Gobain and Reliance. Hardly 10% of students got internships in companies like Reliance. Mostly, they are selected for analyst roles.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not much good. Everything is average here. The biggest drawback being there is no Wi-Fi in the department as well as on campus. The library is good. Labs are not well-equipped. Mess food is above average. The institute has its own dispensary.
Faculty: The college has very good faculty members. Most of them are IITs alumni. They have ample knowledge to share with students. The curriculum is not up to date as per industry standards. A lot is needed to be done in order to prepare students for the industry.
Other: The college organises two fests, technical and cultural. Both are organised in a fantastic manner. The college should provide scholarships to the needy.

Really good infrastructure and research facilities.
Placements: There are 30% placements for M.Tech students. However, placements for B.Tech are very good. Major core and IT companies, and big marketing and teaching institutes visited the college for placements. The maximum package offered is 25 lacs per annum, and the average package is 7 lacs per annum. There is a placement cell available, and it is working properly.
Infrastructure: All facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, library, medical facilities, sports and games and research lab are available. The quality of labs and classrooms is very good, and they are well-equipped. There are 7 old hostels and 1 mega hostel for boys and 1 old hostel and 1 mega hostel for girls. The condition of old hostels is not good, but mega hostels are very good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, and teaching quality is also very good. The methods used for teaching are blackboard and PPTs. There is no industry exposure for M.Tech students. The course curriculum is well-designed as per the requirement.

Really good institute to study in UG.
Placements: Placement is good for UG student mainly computer Science and electronics and electrical engineering, placement scope is not good for mechanical. In computer Science placement is about 90% and also in electronic and electrical engineering but in mechanical and civil was 60-70%. And many of the student go for internship.
Infrastructure: In this campus, classrooms are modern, each and every classroom has a projector and a Pc and class are not under AC rooms but labs are good as CISR labs and Wi-Fi is available in campus at free of cost, medical facilities are very efficient for students, swimming is in campus and athletic meet happened every year.
Faculty: Faculty are compatible with the students, and many of the faculty members are ex iitian faculty and they joined as adhoc faculty. Many faculty members are very helpful to teach extra class when require, faculty members help in completing the project of students.
Other: Many of the scholarship provided by government. And by institute to pursue their degree. And many extracurricular Activities are happened each and every festival.

Satisfied with the college because of average faculty, decent placement, and good infrastructure.
Placements: The placements for bachelor courses are very nice. Companies like Samsung and Adobe visit the campus. Core companies also visit for core branches, and PSU also takes few students from the mining branch. Masters students get decent placement in coaching institutes, and some also get placed in college companies although it's not as great as bachelor courses. PhD under professors is very good, after its completion, the options for teaching in colleges are open.
Infrastructure: The campus is lush green with all basic amenities. Sports facilities are available for all sports including indoor badminton court, basketball court, football ground, etc. The classrooms are well-maintained with projectors installed. The canteen and grocery stores are available. The IT building is equipped with Wi-Fi connection. The hostels are clean and spacious with internet facilities. There is a central library with the books of all fields and is bliss to study.
Faculty: The course content of college is decent. Mostly the questions are from the notes given in class. The faculty are average in knowledge, some are really good in their field. The classes are full of opportunities to learn and the environment provided in the college gives a chance to enhance the knowledge.

This is my College in a nutshell. All you need to Know.
Placements: The average placement package offered is Rs. 6 LPA for M.Tech and Rs. 10 LPA for B.Tech -CS students. Other branches are not that vibrant in the placement. The companies like Adobe, Oracle, Microsoft, Intel, OYO, L&T, etc., have come this year. You can follow the facebook page of NIT-Jalandhar placements for more real-time information.
Infrastructure: I would say this college has a below average infrastructure comparing to other NITs. Though it is top 10 in NITs, its infrastructure is not up to the mark. This college is spread across 155 acres of land. There are 8 boys hostels and 22 girls hostels. There are a gym, a ground and an open theatre. The seminar halls are the best highlights. There is a big shopping mall which is under construction.
Faculty: Mainly, the faculty has PhDs from NIT-Jalandhar itself. Some of them have done either M.Sc, MBA, B.Tech or M.Tech. The B.Tech courses that are mainly taught here are CS, EC, civil, mechanical, textile, chemical, etc. The M.Tech courses that are taught here are CS, IS, civil, mechanical, IP, IC, etc. As far as the academic curriculum is concerned, except CS, every other branch has a chill life.

M.Tech review for NIT, Jalandhar.
Placements: The placements are quite good as compared to other colleges. It depends upon your capability and your strength in coding, and your CGPA which maintained throughout the year. The overall placements are quite good.
Infrastructure: The college has an excellent infrastructure. It is up to the mark. The campus is quite big, and the development is going on for new more buildings. It has good labs. There are many hostels for boys as well as girls. There is provision for each facility within the college.
Faculty: The faculty members in NITJ are quite good. All of them are either M.Tech or PhD holders. Every faculty member is well qualified and has good knowledge. You get proper guidance at all times. Now, coming to the course curriculum, it is also very good, but it is very common as it is followed by most of the NITs or IITs. The faculty to student ratio in M. Tech is 1:5, i.e. for every 5 students there is only 1 faculty.

Other: The faculty is well qualified, experienced and focused. The college environment is education oriented. Students are competitive. The location is close to the city. Market and shops are not fully fledged. Otherwise, good college and I will recommend it to others. Overall ratings are 3.5/5

Other: The institute is regularly visited by Indian and foreign Multinational corporations for offering jobs to final-year B.Tech and M.Tech students. The ratio of number of students placed to total number is nearly 1:1, with a number of students receiving multiple job offers. Campus Interviews are arranged for the final year B.Tech/ M.Tech/ M.Sc. students. A large number of reputed Industrial houses in the country visit the Institution and select the final year students as Engineers/ Management Trainees. Some of the Companies invite the students to their Corporate Offices for the interviews.
