NIT Jalandhar MTech fee ranges between INR 1.4 lakh - INR 2.3 lakh as per the official sources. This fee contains the tuition fees for both the years of the course, including hostel fees and security deposit.

Candidates who are applying for PhD courses from the engineering department such as NIT Jalandhar chemical engineering or NIT Jalandhar civil engineering departments must have a ME/MTech degree of the relevant field. However, NIT Jalandhar also offers PhD courses in Humanities, Science and Management sectors where, an ME/MTech degree is not required.

A two-year MTech programme is available at NIT Jalandhar. There are 16 specialisations available for this programme. There are two options for students to be admitted to the M.Tech programme at NIT Jalandhar. They either need to qualify for GATE and appear for CCMT Counselling. Another option is to get admission through the Self-Sponsored category via only a GATE score.

Additionally, non-GATE-qualified candidates can also be admitted by taking the entrance test held by the particular departments at NIT Jalandhar. Students must meet the minimal requirements for eligibility and pass the applicable admission exam with a passing score. To meet the minimum eligibility criteria, the candidate must be a graduate with a minimum 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA with BE/B.Tech subject from a recognised university. NIT Jalandhar admits students on the basis of merit in both UG and PG programmes. The merit lists are notified in reference to JEE main scores and GATE score for UG and PG resoectively. Students cannot get direct admission into the college. They must clear JEE main/GATE exam in accordance with the selection criteria of their preferred course. applicants must also register and attend the JoSAA/CCMT counselling process before seat allocation by the institution.

Candidates need to pass Class 12 with at least 60% aggregate to apply for UG courses at NIT Jalandhar. Aspirants have to complete their UG degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate to apply for PG courses.
