No, candidates can not get into NIT Hamirpur M.Tech without taking the GATE exam. It is the only entrance exam the university recognises for admission into the M.Tech programme. Candidates with a valid GATE score will have to appear for CCMT counselling to get provisional admission into the university. Therefore, a valid GATE score is necessary and candidates can not gain admission without it.
MTech at NIT Hamirpur is two years long. The M.Tech programme follows the semester model, which means that each year of the programme is divided into two semesters in each year.
