Last year, the closing rank for BTech in Mechanical Engineering was 62730, which is close to this range. This was for the General category under the All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. NIT Agartala provides scholarships both merit-based and need-based. There is a total of 11 types of scholarships provided by NIT Agartala. National Institute of Technology Agartala has been ranked by the NIRF 2025 under the Engineering category at the 101-150 position. The Government of India converted the Tripura Engineering College to NIT Agartala in 2006. NIT Agartala ROI is quite good. The placements are also decent. 

To get admission to NIT Agartala, student must attain the rank as per the category-wise cutoff list. For candidates belonging to the General AI category, the closing ranks in third round were between 20541 and 58197. Therefore, for General AI category candidates, the rank in JEE Advanced must be below 58197.

The infrastructure of NIT Agartala is good. Wi-Fi facility is available on campus including hostels. The labs are well-equipped and the classrooms are very big.
