It is a very good college.

Placements: I got placed through on-campus placements in TCS. Our college provides very good training and placement programme. It trains students to a company level professional. As a result, more than 200 students got placements in TCS from our 2016 batch. I would highly recommend this college for any student who wants good education and placements.

Infrastructure: There is a good quality hostel and food here, and they are worth the money. They take care of every tenant and behave like family members. I would recommend this college for study as well as its hostel to stay.

Faculty: All the faculty members are highly trained and well educated here. There are faculty members for every department. Every department has its HOD who takes care of the classes and faculty members. Students have the freedom to share their problem if they want to change the faculty member.

Review of Orissa Engineering College.

Placements: OEC provides decent placements. Many MNCs like TCS Zycus, Tech Mahindra, Mu Sigma, The Happiest Minds, Amazon, Adani, etc., come for recruitment. The mass recruiting company is TCS, and it recruits a decent number of students. The highest package offered is 5 LPA by Zycus and Adani. TCS offered a package of 3 LPA, and other companies offered around 2-2.5 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is above average. The campus is lush green with very spacious classrooms and a seating area. The whole campus is well connected with Wi-Fi. The campus also has a bank, a post office, ATM and medical facilities with an ambulance. The campus has a huge library where you can sit and study. There are labs of each department with proper facilities and ample amount of seating area to do practicals. There is no shortage of machines or computers. The hostel is available only for 1st-year students, and the hostel has Wi-Fi. There is a mess system which provides food 4 times a day. The hostel rooms are quite big to live in. The hostel also has an LCD TV with a cable facility. The campus has 2 small grounds and a big ground where all the extracurricular activities take place. The campus also has 3 canteens where you get nice food and snacks.

Faculty: The faculty members are in numerous numbers, and they are well qualified and teach very nicely. Many teachers are IIT pass outs or doing M.Tech from IITs. The courses are completed before the semester-end. There are internal exams before every semester. Classrooms have CCTV cameras and projectors. There is a separate department for training and placement, which has all facilities of projectors and air-conditioners. The training and placement team nurtures students to get placed in companies. The teachers have good knowledge of other subjects and are always ready to clear all your doubts when asked.

Other: I chose electrical engineering as it is a core branch. There are quite friendly teachers in my branch. The labs are nice with adequate machinery. Every student gets a chance to do practicals. The problem faced by outside students (who reside outside Orissa) is the language problem, as many teachers talk in Odia, but everyone gets used to it and understands it within a month or two. Each year, a college fest is organized. The fest lasts for a week. There are techie and games fests for 6 days, and on the 7th day, there is DJ night, where a celebrity comes. During my college days, Mika Singh, Zubin Garg, Benny Dayal and Sona Mohapatra were invited. The college is well connected to the road and rail. The college has 20-25 buses which ply till Cuttack, so there is no problem with traveling.

Orissa Engineering College is a good college to take admission.

Placements: Our college provides average placements. About 40-50% of the students got placement at our time. You can choose the course as per your passion. The best courses are CS and IT nowadays. Top recruiting companies like TCS, Zycus and ADP visit our college for placements. The average salary package offered at our time ranges between 3-5 LPA.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available in our college are very good. Our college provides hostel facility in the 1st-year, and it is very good and clean for both boys and girls. Our college provides free Wi-Fi facility and canteen to serve food. In the library, you can just sit and study for your semester.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching skills are very good. They have both theoretical and practical experience. The course curriculum is relevant. They make students learn the experiments in detail so that students become ready for industry.

Review of Orissa Engineering College.

Placements: Placements in our college were good. At our time, 6-7 companies visited our college for placements. In our department, almost 30% of students got placed. The salary package offered was 3.5 LPA. Companies like HCL, Wipro, Hyma Plates, Vessels private limited, L&T visited our campus for placements. In my point of view, the college campus is awesome.

Infrastructure: It is the best college. The college conduct cricket match in college. The college provides good facilities like computer lab, classrooms, a library, etc. The hostel facility is good. Hostel rooms are clean.

Faculty: Faculty members in our college are good. Some of our lectures are caring. If students have any doubt, teachers clarify students doubt in free time. Faculty members check all notes and record of students. They never behave rudely with students. They are very friendly.

I'm partially satisfied with the college because I got placed in a company.

Placements: The placements for our batch were very good compared to our senior batch. Our batch had almost 100% placements. Many IT companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, Zycus, Mind Tree, etc., visited the campus to offer placements. The college provides placements for core and non-core branch students. The core companies also visit the college to offer placements.

Infrastructure: The college has a very big auditorium which was one of the best in the state and was exceptionally beautiful. Labs, canteen, and garden are clean and provided with all the required facilities. Hostels were good to stay, but the food provided was not good. I'm a localite, so I don't know much about the hostel. Overall, it was a good college.

Faculty: The faculty members in the college were average. They used to teach according to the strength present in the class which wasn't justified enough, according to me. I used to attend the classes just to make up to the minimum attendance and not for the actual learning. Some teachers were great, and some weren't. I have just graduated as an engineer from this college, it didn't make me feel like an electrical engineer.

Good place to start your career.

Placements: One of the best college for placements. TCS comes every year And it's a day company. So many company will come and you will get a job for sure. Many core as well as it company comes. They give specific class for placement. They will teach you apti reasoning group discussion etc. You need not b worry if you are in oec.

Infrastructure: It's a the oldest engineering college in Odisha. Situated near jatani. Infrastructure is very good. The main building is so much attractive. College fest happens every year. College canteen, it canteen is there for having food and water cooler is there. Every necessary things available for students.

Faculty: Every faculty is really very good. Especially each and every teacher from our electrical branch is very friendly and cooperative. Attending practical classes are mandatory. They will give you practical as well as theoretical knowledge. They take our internal strictly.

Overall, it is average if someone needs time and want to complete degree from a reputed college.

Placements: The placements were good at that time, but not now. Only TCS will hire a mass number of candidates, and after that, no companies will come. If someone wants to go for core company, then his dream will not be fulfilled inside the college. After the on-campus, the college will send candidates to other nearby colleges for off-campus, but maximum candidates were disqualified there.

Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is not bad according to the number of students studying there. Three big gardens and one canteen are available. One oriental bank is also available here. There is a nice hostel building where 120 rooms, 60 toilets and 72 bathrooms (not attached) are available. Food is also okay in hostel life. The hostel is available only for the 1st year boys. Girls are staying in the city, and every day, they have to go by college bus.

Faculty: The faculty members are average. It is true that the faculty members don't have that much knowledge as they show up. The faculty members in labs are too poor. They are totally unfit for the poor students who don't have any idea about the subjects. It is the oldest college, established in 1986. Once upon a time, it was good, but not now.

Other: Connectivity is a big problem (only 3 to 4 city buses will be available in the whole day). Otherwise, you have to go by asking lift, that is also not guaranteed. Up to B.Tech 3rd year, we did not get any town bus to travel, so we faced a lot of problems. The hostel life is also good. 2 buses are available on each route from BBSR city.

Placements: Our college has consistently placed students in reputed national and multinational companies. The numbers of companies visiting the campus has increased over the years. We are on the most of the top companies that visit the state each year. Our students have performed exceedingly well over the years.

Infrastructure: A complete learning lab with 27 major classrooms amd labs offering complete access to web, computer databases, digital media and a host of other resources. There are also seminar/ meeting rooms and about 15 faculty research labs and support rooms in our college.

Faculty: All the teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledge. Their teaching quality are awesome. They not only teach us but also take a good care of us. Faculty members solves some extra examples of related subjects to understand theories completely. They also use projectors to show some important things.

Other: Our college fest is awsum year to year.
