PGI Chandigarh offers BSc with seven different specialisations. These specialisations are - Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology, Radiotherapy Technology, Medical Technology (Perfusionist), Embalming and Mortuary Science, Medical Technology (Dialysis Therapy Technology), Medical Animation and Audio-Visual Creation and Nursing. The first six specialisations from the list helps students make a career as a paramedic.
The BSc in Nursing from PGI Chandigarh is one of the top Nursing courses of India. During the PGI BSc in Nursing course, the students get to practically work in various different departments of nursing.
PGI Chandigarh admits students based on merit in Class 12 as well their respective scores in PGIMER entrance exam. The admission process for PGI BSc courses can be divided into the following seven steps:
Step 1: In the first step, candidate must submit their applications via college’s official website. PGI Chandigarh only accepts online application. The application portal for BSc courses generally opens around the month of May.
Step 2: PGI Chandigarh conducts its own entrance emanation for admissions to BSc courses. The applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are then required to take the CBT entrance examination.
Step 3: After the examination, the college releases the result. The result stage includes release of individual scorecard as well as rank list produced on basis of candidates’ performance in the entrance exam.
Step 4: After the release of rank list, the college begins with its counselling process. Candidates are required to report to the institute for personal counselling process. Generally, PGI Chandigarh holds 4 rounds of counselling for BSc courses.
Step 5: Next, documents of all the candidates, who get a seat through counselling, are verified.
Step 6: Selected candidates then are required to pay the admission fees in the prescribed time. Failure to do so may lead to cancellation of allocated seat.
Step 7: Once the candidates have paid the fees, it is mandatory for them to report to the college according to the prescribed timeline.
The institute has released the NIRF report 2023 which incorporates the median package details. During 2022 placements, the median package for PG (2-year) and PG (3-year) courses stood at INR 8 LPA and INR 17 LPA, respectively.
