Exploring Ramjas: the underrated DU college.
Placements: Ramjas does have a placement cell, and anybody enrolled in any course of college in his last semester can apply for placement. The placement ratio is above 90% with an average package of 5.6 lacs per annum, with the highest package being 19.25 lacs. My course doesn't get many placement as it's a research-based course. So, only pharma companies recruits us. While commerce students does get placed in various companies such as Zomato, Deloitte, D.E Shaw, PWC, etc. As for internships, science students get only experience-based internships from laboratories as assistants, while if you have skills, you can apply for off-campus internships. DU has a vice chancellor internship scheme in which any DU student can apply .
Infrastructure: My college does look extraordinary and prestigious. The infrastructure is great for the new building. The college has Wi-Fi, but it doesn't work too well. We have chemistry, physics, computer, botany, and zoology labs, and they are operating with all basic needs. Classrooms have projectors, but only a few faculty use them, and we don't have AC in the classroom. The library has all the required books and facilities, such as a water cooler, Wi-Fi, etc. I couldn't get admission in a hostel, so basically I don't know much about it as I couldn't clear the cutoff for hostel allotment, as basically there are very few rooms in hostels. The infrastructure of the hostel is old. College doesn't have a medical room but if a student gets injured, they are taken to basic first aid and to the nearest hospital. The sports department is very popular at our college, as there are many medalist alumni from our college. Games such as cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, chess, table tennis, etc. are available, and competitions are held occasionally.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified with PhDs and they do have a lot of experience in teaching. Some of the faculty members are new to teaching but they are supportive and friendly towards us. The college administration is lenient towards attendance criteria so basically, from students point of view, its good. As for exams, they are conducted after every semester based upon new education policy We have to study for 7 subjects at the beginning: 3 core and 4 electives. Every subject has an internal assessment test conducted by subject teachers and also a practical exam conducted by du in which an external teacher takes a viva. The level of the exam is moderate to hard, and most of the students do pass, but some get backlogs if a paper comes too hard. It's not difficult to pass in DU.
Other: I couldn't clear the cutoff for mathematics honors, so I had to choose it as a second preference. The course is research-based so you can get into research after doing Masters or become a professor after a PhD. The college canteen can be improved, as it kind of gives dhaba vibes for now and the infrastructure is really bad for canteen. Ramjas hold mosaic fest in late winters; we have dance, music, debate, fine arts, etc. Society to involve in social interaction and connect to new people.

College, it's staff, and environment were very good.
Placements: The course I chose didn't provide much percentage of students to be placed. After the master degree, many placement options are available. But many students got selected for internship programs after completion of degrees offered by top companies in top states.
Infrastructure: The college's all-teaching staff as well as the infrastructure were quite good. The chemistry department was made very well with spacious classrooms and modular labs with many lab equipments, but some of them need to be repaired as they weren't in good condition and limited in number as per the students.
Faculty: The environment of the college was very peaceful, and corridors were well shaped. Lots of trees and many beautiful parks were there with very attractive plants. Teachers, lab staff, guards, and library staff, as well as canteen workers, were also very helpful.
Other: The course I chose was Chemistry Hons, as I have a keen interest in this subject and want to become a teacher of the respective subject.

I thing Chandigarh University is best for MSC Chemistry. not only for studies but it is value for money and placement too. last year the highest L.P.A. was of 35L.p.a. So I think taking admission in CU is a kind of steal deal.

Admission in Ramjas depends on the cut-off which will be soon released by the university. Please specify your best four subjects and PCM marks.
