Fully satisfied with my journey here, and it has knowledgeable faculty members and good teaching.
Placements: The placements are available only for vocational subjects like BCA, BBA, B.Sc. and IT, not for honours subjects like chemistry, physics, maths, commerce, and arts. The average package offered for vocational courses is 2-3 Lacs per annum. Only multinational companies come here with less number of vacancies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. The labs are in good condition, like chemistry and physics labs. There are proper instruments. In the biotech lab, there are proper instruments. There is Wi-Fi, but the Wi-Fi doesn't work properly. Classrooms are in good condition, and the benches are cleaned regularly. The library has books related to every field, and a large number of books are available.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, friendly and kind. Most of the faculty members are supportive. The teachers are qualified with PhDs. Most of the teachers here are JRF qualified. The curriculum is semester-based, and there are 6 semesters in total. In masters, there are four semesters. Semester exams are not difficult, and the question papers are set by the professors of other colleges. The passing percentage is 90%. Hardly 2-3 girls fail every year in every department.
Other: I chose chemistry as I have an interest in chemistry. In Ranchi Women's College, the Chemistry faculty is very supportive, and the teaching is very good. I joined this college in 2015, I have seen 4 professors retiring from college in the last 5 years. When I joined this course, there were 11 professors in the chemistry department. There are only 8 professors. The thing that college can improve is recruiting new professors. Fests like Savan, sports day, etc., are organised ever year, but due to Covid, Savan fest, convocation ceremony, etc., were not organised by the college for the last two years.
