At Sikkim Manipal Institute Of Technology there is a Proper Training and Placement Department (T&P) which is also the hub of all the possible in tractions between the Academic Institutions, Corporation Industries and others with SMIT. The aim of this department is to provide assistance in the placements for all eligible students of Pass-out Batches throughout the Campus Placement. The Training And Placement Department also arranges pre-placement training for the students with the assistance of Reputed Training Agencies.The department has been highly successful as an industry academy interaction for the students in the recent years.

At Manipal Institute of Technology there are several Extra Curricular Activities and Clubs available for the Students to participate in and enhance several skills. Given below is a list of few Clubs and their Activities:

• ILLUSION: ILLUSION, a group filled with never ending energy and boldness is the oldest dance group on the campus. Inspiring students of SMIT to dance and let it out since 2000. Its members receiving the highest praise for their diverse forte from bollywood to b-boying, their musicality, and their sheer human authenticity.
• UDAAN: UDAAN has been consistently performing in various inter- and intra-college dance competitions and events and has always won the heart of audience. UDAAN came together to represent SMIT in Kaalrav ’16 and ‘17 and secured Second Prize in the Group Dance Competition. The soul and whole motive of UDAAN is to entertain people and express themselves which is reflected in their performance.
• CHROMATIX: Chromatix is the first ever Music Club of SMIT founded and established in the year 2016.The club functions as a family and gives platform for the daily advancement of an individual. Their consistency and hardwork handed the club its very first opportunity to perform in Kaalrav’17.

P.S. : There are also Sports Club, Photography Club and Innovation Clubs for the Students to enhance their skills and make endless memories at SMIT.

Some helpful tips for students starting their career at Sikkim Manipal institute of technology as a first year student are as follows:

• The GPA is a must. One must one must work hard and balance it up to an extent to maintain a perfect GPA for the placement in the future from the institution
• A very helpful tip for the first year students will be to start learning new skills with the amiding course they are studying at the University and focus on their goals and achieve more and more great internship and prepare for big placements that come up at this university.
• Take party in extra curricular activities and learn to give importance to your physical life as much as you to give to your study life.

Faculty is moderate but better than other Bachelor colleges in Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. Teachers are very helpful and the way they approach academically is impeccable too. The course curriculum is relevant and upto the mark for students. Undoubtedly, SMIT provides one of the best education in India. The faculty members are more like parents providing all sorts of help in terms of annual Academics and well as non-academic matters and activities.
