The duration of this course is 10 months, including four months on shore, followed by six months of onboard training. This course is approved by The Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. Of India and meets the requirements laid down in Table A-III/6 of STCW as amended in 2010. The total seat intake for this course is 40. To get admission to ETO course at TMI, candidates are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Those who pass Class 12 in PCM and English as subjects along with a four-year degree course in the respective subjects are eligible to apply for this course. Admission to this course is entrance-based. Tolani Maritime Institute conducts Tolani Maritime Institute Science Aptitude Test (TMISAT) for admission to the ETO course.
