Jntuk petroleum engineering course review.
Placements: During covid time placement are less and even in 1 placement only 5 people were selected out of 50 members. Times are difficult during covid but the subject we learned didn't leave us like an abandoned child. Overall it was great before Covid time. We had IT tours during iur course that helped us learn a lot during those 15 days visit to several Ongc's in north india. I have been offered upstream data analyst in teach mahindra. And we do have lot of opportunities in IT especially for petroleum associate.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure, labs, classrooms that you'll SEE in our college will be no match to a corporate college. There are laboratories with full equipment and computers for each student to learn and create projects. Coming to sports, great opportunities were provided for our university players. Our canteen facility is not that good, I would say this goes for a 1 star.
Faculty: We have well knowledge faculty. Our semester exams would be quite challenging due to a differ course that has few resources to study. We have drill engineering, product engineering, reservoir engineering. These three course if properly learned gives you all insights of what is actually happening in extracting oil.
Other: I haven't planned to study petrol engineering. But life steered me to pursue this course which I won't regret. Petrol engineering is a core subject that offers in depth knowledge of the whole oil and gas life cycle to retail marketing. Attending GATE exam and getting a good score will help you be in a position that earn you more than we deserve.

I will definitely recommend this college.
Placements: Only software companies recruited students here. For other branches like petroleum engineering, there were no core companies. While joining, we were told that core companies and software companies would come and recruit us. It didn't happen. At least a few candidates were hired by software firms.
Infrastructure: All the labs were perfect. Some equipments did not work. They did not change them. Classrooms were good. Air conditioning was present for final-year students in our department. The remaining departments were old. The hostels for first and final-year students were good, but not for second and third-year students. Medical facilities were available.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful. They encourage us every time. We could enjoy their teaching. All the materials were shared with us. Everything related to the course and the curriculum was good. The difficulty of the exams was medium. If we understand the concepts, exams are easy.

I am a bit dissatisfied with our course.
Placements: In our course, about 40% of the students got placed. All the placements are from software companies. None of us got a job on our core side. The salary packages offered range from 4 LPA to 6 LPA. If there are placements from the core side, then it will be much satisfactory for our course.
Infrastructure: We have facilities like projectors in every classroom, Wi-Fi, good infrastructure labs, and a good seminar hall. The quality of food and facilities in the hostel is average. But sometimes it will be disappointing for us to be here.
Faculty: We have qualified faculty members who are good enough to nourish our learning skills. The course curriculum is related a bit. Semester exams are a bit difficult and the evaluation is also tough. The pass percentage will vary between 70 to 90%.

It was a good college when we started studying, but it's reputation is in downfall now.
Placements: Our course is somewhat special. All the seats will be filled without any vacancy. We don't have any placements from our core related companies. We have to try on our own to get jobs. We usually get IT companies to recruit us. 3-4 Lacs per annum is what we get as starting package.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available throughout the college. Cass rooms are good. Labs are good but equipment. Is old and sometimes won't work. Hostels and quality of food are average. Some hostels are very old and need renovation. A big library is there but petroleum engineering books are not available.
Faculty: Some faculty are good and friendly and knowledgeable. Some don't have thorough knowledge they don't take teaching seriously. They don't sign records if they have grudge against students. High authority are full of corruption. We have seen some incidents regarding corruption published in local news paper. Exams are normal difficulty but exams schedule is different, daily exams with no gaps.

This college provides good infrastructure and students enjoy it a lot.
Placements: Around 50% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 7 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, and Accenture are the top recruiting companies. Till now, no students are placed based on this course, but some are placed in software companies. Top roles are offered based on the interview.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good, and laboratories are also provided. The food is very good except for dinner, and good development students can gain in sports and games. Canteen is not much popular, but medical facilities are good in this college.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and helpful. The exams are difficult and the average pass percentage is 70%. Students are able to visit various industries based on their courses along with India through industrial tours. But from previous year, due to pandemic industry tours are suspended.
Other: I opted for this course, because of my interest in it. I liked this core course. Fests, events, and campus crowds are very good and students enjoy them a lot.

Review of University College of Engineering, JNTU, Kakinada
Placements: Around 30% of students are placed in L&T. Many students got internships in reputed companies, but the worse part is that it does not reach its mark as a reputed college as the number of a chance getting into the placements were very low.
Infrastructure: The facilities like hostel and classrooms are provided in our college. It also has Wi-Fi facilities on the campus. It is a new course which is very interesting and makes students learn with an enthusiasm and as it is a very rare course. It is a good course, but students do not get much advertised to industry.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified in our college. Many of them are not government teachers and are only temporarily recruited, but the benefit is that unlike the other private colleges it doesn't force students to remember the content with any innovative understanding of the concepts but makes students to thinks and explore the concepts.
Other: The college also conducts events and fests for students, so that they can enjoy.

I am satisfied with my college life, but placements are few here.
Placements: About 10% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary package offered is 4 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3.6 LPA. Recruitment of core companies is only provided if you get a rank below 50 in the GATE exam. Software companies like Txs, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys and L&T visit our campus for placements.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure in our department are very good. There is a Wi-Fi facility. But it is not of good speed every time. Labs are good. We have a separate building for the labs. But that building needs to be reconstructed because it has ventilation problems. It has very good classrooms and a library. The quality of food served in the hostels is average. We have a dispensary in our college for medical facilities. There is a huge ground to play.
Faculty: Exams are difficult here. Teachers teaching is average. Teachers are experienced, but they just have up to the point knowledge. The course curriculum is good, and it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are difficult. The pass percentage is good, and it is more than 80%.

Everything on the campus looks great and interesting.
Placements: Getting into JNTU Kakinada is not a simple thing. It is a dream of many topper students. Nearly 80-90% of the students get placed in various companies. But mostly many of the students don't go for placement as they prefer higher studies after completion of B.Tech at JNTU Kakinada to explore something new. Coming to the placements, many IT companies and core companies recruit students from our college offering good salary packages. The highest salary package offered is 30 LPA ,and the lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. The average salary package offered is 6 LPA. So, our college has a very good placement record compared with all the technical and non-technical universities in both Andra Pradesh and Telangana.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good, being a public university it has a private-oriented infrastructure. Classrooms are excellent, and we have attractive and well-equipped laboratories to experience the real world. Hostel rooms are not bad, and always hostel in-chargers try to maintain hostel with the best neatness. It is very peaceful and has greenery infrastructure in both the hostels and departments. The quality of food served is better because they use good quality products only.
Faculty: Teachers are always helpful to every student. Simply we can scale 7-8 out of 10. But I'm very sorry to say that, main professors don't teach us with their qualified and knowledgeable ideas. Only assistant professors come to the class to teach us. But they are great, they do their hard work to share their knowledge. So faculty members at Jntu Kakinada are very helpful and good. Coming to the curriculum, they have a very cooperative and helping curriculum structure. They prepare it very clearly. Exams held are semester-wise so that students can learn subjects thoroughly and then they conduct minds, labs (internals and externals) then final exams. But the results are declared very late as they evaluate papers very strictly.
Other: I chose petroleum engineering because I'm much interested to work on offshore ONGC. University students get scholarship offers from ONGC. Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, and extracurricular activities are held every time and are very enthusiastic.
