JNU BTech admission criteria and selection process

The School of Engineering is one of the youngest schools of JNU which was established in 2018. It offers BTech dual degree programme with two combinations of various specialisations. It is a five-year programme and its academic sessions generally commence from the month of July every year.

JNU BTech Admission Process 2020

JNU admission process is based on a candidate’s JEE Main rank followed by JoSAA/CSAB counselling. The candidate's rank should meet the cutoff list decided by the University.

JNU BTech programme (dual degree) offers two specialisations, as mentioned below:

CSE and MS/MTech in Social Sciences/ Humanities/ Science/ Technology

Class 12 with 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ST). Candidates in the top 20 percentile in Class 12 are also eligible to apply

ECE and MS/MTech in Social Sciences/ Humanities/ Science/ Technology

JNU application process is completely online for BTech programmes. In order to apply for admission in JNU, the aspirants must fill the application form of JEE Main 2020 on the official website of NTA.

Documents required for JEE Main Application Form 2020

Candidates should keep the following documents ready before filling the application form:

  • Class 10 and 12 academic certificates
  • Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar Enrollment Number
  • Scanned images of passport, voter ID or any valid Govt ID
  • Valid email ID and mobile number

As per the JNU CSE cutoff 2026, EWS AI category candidates have to get a rank of at least 6340 in Round 5. Students with a rank lower than the one mentioned here have a better chance of admission.
