How I chose my course and college: Sneha Sharma
I got 10 CGPA in class 10th and decided to take PCM because I was interested in Mathematics. I got admission in one of the coaching institutes for preparation of AIEEE (now JEE) and prepared myself as well, but I was not able to clear the exam.
So, after searching for a good private college in Delhi, I got Galgotias University (which was the only option left with good placement record at an affordable price). I got admission in this college through counselling and started my Engineering journey in 2015.
It was easy to take admission in this college but since I chose CSE as the main course, I had to be good in Coding as well. In the 1st year and 2nd year, I was busy learning theories and I got good marks as well - 9.5 CGPA. But when I entered the 3rd year, I saw that most of my friends were implementing their knowledge to practical situations.
That was the time when I realized that I needed to do some project as well. I got help from one of the friends and my PBL teacher as well in developing a mini-project of my own i.e. an e-commerce website for “Online Mobile Recharge System”. It is not a fully developed project yet but I am learning more about it.
So, if you are a CSE student, you have to search which are the most important languages in the market and learn at least one in detail. Now I am in the 7th semester and I am undergoing training provided by the college, and I hope to get a good placement as well. With the course knowledge, you have to be quick in aptitude, GD and article-writing as well.
I would like to share a small experience of “Job Fair” here. In the 6th semester, School of Learning organized a job fair in which we were first taught about what orientations we require in the interview round. And at the end, we were given the role of interviewer/interviewee. We got a certificate as well for doing the best interviewer/interviewee role. But the best part about this Job Fair was the confidence that I gained for the interview round.
Start studying from today just for your knowledge purpose, and you will definitely get success soon.
All The Best!

As a third-year student, I've seen companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, HCLTech, Deloitte, IBM, and Tech Mahindra recruit from Galgotias University. The list varies each year, but students who build strong skills and stay consistent have good placement opportunities.
