IIITH UGEE 2026: The exam body, Indian Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH UGEE) has released the IIITH UGEE 2026 dates. As per the schedule, the IIITH UGEE 2026 application form was released on February 11, 2026. Eligibile canddiates can apply until the last date which is March 31, 2026, Students can apply by visiting the official website of the exam body - ugadmissions.iiit.ac.in/ugee, we have also shared the direct link for candidates to fill the application form. While filling the IIITH UGEE 2026 application form, studnets must fill in their personal and educational details.

Candidates who successfully submit the application form will be issued IIITH UGEE 2026 admit card to appear in the exam. The IIITH UGEE 2026 entrance examination will be conducted on May 2, 2026 in computer-based mode, and candidates who qualify will move on to the final stage with on-campus interviews held from June 4 to 6, 2026. The entrance exam is held to shortlist candidates for admission into B.Tech courses provided at the university campus. What is IIITH UGEE 2026?

The IIITH UGEE (Undergraduate Entrance Examination) is an entrance exam organised by IIIT Hyderabad every year. The objective is to shortlist candidates for admission into its five-year dual degree programmes (B.Tech + MS by Research). UGEE prioritizes conceptual understanding and research aptitude. The courses are offered under the following specialisation. Based on candidates performance in the exam, merit rank and counselling, they will be offered the courses in the below specialisations - 

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECD)
  • Computer Science and Engineering (CSD)
  • Computer Science (CSD)
  • Computational Linguistics (CLD)
  • Computational Natural Sciences (CND), and Computing and Human Sciences (CHD)

Apart from UGEE, IIIT Hyderabad also offers admission to B.Tech programmes through JEE Main, NK/ NTSE or KVPY, Olympiad, Direct Admissions for Students Abroad (DASA) and Special Channel of Admission (SPEC). Students qualified in the entrance examination must appear for an interview, after which they will be offered admission.

The application form of IIITH UGEE is available online. While filling the online application form, candidates must register by filling out their details wherever asked and pay the required fee. Payment of fee will be accepted only through debit card/credit card/net banking. No applications will be accepted after the final date. The last date to apply is March 31, 2026.

IIITH UGEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria

IIIT Hyderabad offers admission to five dual degree courses (B Tech + Master of Science by Research) in the institute. Students have to qualify the entrance exam to appear in the seat allotment process. To appear in IIITH UGEE 2026, Students have to pass Class 12 or equivalent qualifying Examination with an aggregate of 60% marks in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Shortlisted Students have to accept their seats and pay the fees within the given timeline. The IIITH UGEE hall ticket will be issued to all the candidates who have successfully submitted the application form. To download the admit card, candidate will have to log in using the required credentials to download the admit card. Details regarding the exam date, timings, venue, guidelines and more are released through the admit card. While reporting to the exam centre, students must carry their hall ticket along with one valid photo identity proof such as aadhar card, voter ID card, PAN card or driving license.

The pattern consists of the details such as exam mode, time duration, medium of the exam, type of questions asked in the exam, marking scheme etc. As per the exam pattern of IIITH UGEE, the test consists of two computer-based sections:

No, it's basically not possible.

The 5-year dual degree through UGEE (like at IIIT Hyderabad) has a completely separate admission process. If you join through JEE Main (B.Tech), you can't later switch into the UGEE dual-degree program.
