
LIC AAO Exam Pattern 2025 has been prescribed by the Life Insurance Corporation. The LIC AAO exam includes two levels- Prelims and Mains. Both exams are conducted online. However, the exam pattern is different for both levels. The LIC AAO Prelims pattern includes 100 objective-type questions of 1 mark each. In Preliminary exam, the questions are asked from Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. Candidates need to solve the LIC AAO question paper in a duration of 1 hour.
Change in Paper Pattern 2025: As per the exam day instructions released by the LIC, negative marking has been introduced in Prelims exam. There is a deduction of 1/4th marks for each wrong answer in LIC AAO prelims exam 2025.

LIC AAO Prelims Exam Pattern 2025
LIC AAO prelims exam is conducted online at various centres across the nation. The LIC AAO Prelims has three sections and the total allotted time is 1 hour. The medium of exam is English and Hindi. The time duration for each section is 20 minutes. The candidates have to score minimum qualifying numbers marked for each section. The number of candidates who pass the LIC AAO prelims exam are 20 times the number of vacancies notified in the LIC AAO notification.
LIC AAO Mains Exam Pattern 2025
LIC AAO main exam is conducted online to select the candidates for the interview stage. The LIC AAO exam is conducted for the various functionally distinct positions. The medium of AAO Mains exam is English and Hindi for all sections except the English section. There are 30 questions for each section, except the descriptive test. The LIC AAO Mains exam includes objective-type as well as descriptive questions. The objective MCQs are asked from Reasoning Ability, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Data Analysis and Interpretation and Insurance and Financial Market Awareness. The descriptive questions are asked from English. There is no negative marking in mains exam.
The LIC AAO main exam consists of two types of questions
- Objective test - 300 marks
- Descriptive type - 25 marks

LIC AAO Interview 2025
LIC AAO Interview is the last stage of the selection process. The number of candidates to be called for an interview are about three times the number of vacancies to be filled. The LIC declares the AAO final result after the interview round. Based on the final result, candidates are sent for the medical test.

LIC AAO Normalisation of Marks
Normalisation is a process undertaken to provide a level playing field to all the candidates who appeared in different slots and different question papers. The scores of the examination are obtained by adopting the following procedure:
(i) The number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the Score.
(ii) The score so obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the Equated Scores*
* Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms.
(iii) Test wise scores and scores on total are reported with the decimal point up to two digits.
