LIC AAO 2025: Prelims Admit Card OUT, Exam Date for Generalist/Specialist, Syllabus

The LIC will soon release the AAO Prelims admit card. Candidates need to visit the LIC official website to download their admit cards.

The recruitment of Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO) in the LIC is done through three stages 

• Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
• Phase-II: Main Examination
• Phase-III: Interview

After appointed as the Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) in the LIC, a candidate will be on probation for a period of one year from the date of joining. The LIC AAO probation period may be extended upto two years. During the probation period of the LIC AAO, candidates’ performance will be under the continuous assessment. If a candidate fails to achieve the minimum standard of his/her services, his or her services will be terminated as per the policy of Corporation.

The LIC AAO Generalist eligibility is:

• Graduation
• Age limit: 21 to 30 years

However, the upper age limit is relaxed for SC, ST, OBC and PwD.

The age limit for AAO in LIC is 21 years to 30 years. However, the upper age limit is relaxed:

The LIC AAO is different from LIC ADO post. The LIC ADO works under the Divisional Officers and help in building the business through the recruitment of LIC agents. The LIC AAO is responsible for formulating new schemes, businesses and the checking existing policies. LIC AAO also manages and files Claims and Settlements of the customers.

Before joining as a LIC AAO, candidates are required to give a Guarantee Bond, which is an undertaking to serve the LIC for a minimum four years period from the date of joining (including the probation). If a candidate fails to serve the LIC for four years, he/she or his /her heirs, executors, administrators will be liable to pay liquidated damages of INR 5 Lakhs + GST or the sum of amount the Executive Director (Personnel) may prescribe from time to time.

The guarantee bond amount for LIC Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) is INR 5 lakh. The shortlisted AAO Generalists or Specialists need to submit an undertaking to serve the LIC for four years from the date of joining. Those who fail to complete the four-year service period have to pay damages of INR 5 Lacs to the LIC.

The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) carries out the recruitment of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) in a three-phased selection process involving:

Candidates shortlisted for appointment as Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) in the LIC are initially posted on probation. The probation period of the LIC AAO Generalist and Specialist is 1 year. The LIC AAO guarantee bond is a kind of security that the LIC asks from candidates against their selection for trust purposes. The submission of an undertaking or guarantee bond ensures that the selected AAOs will serve the LIC for at least four years. Moreover, it assures the LIC that the investment made in the training and recruitment of LIC AAO Generalist and Specialist posts is successful.

The LIC AAO Mains exam is conducted online. There are two types of tests in the Mains exam for LIC AAO Generalist post-: Objective and Descriptive. The objective paper comprises 120 questions from Reasoning Ability, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Data Analysis & Interpretation and Insurance and Financial Market Awareness. * English Descriptive paper will be of a qualifying nature, and its marks will not be counted for ranking. The descriptive paper will be evaluated only for those candidates who qualify for the Mains objective test.

The LIC AAO Prelims exam is conducted online, comprising objective-type MCQs. There are a total of 100 questions in the AAO Generalist Prelims exam. The basic pay for the LIC AAO post is INR 53600 per month. The LIC AAO pay scale is INR 53600- 2645 (14) –90630– 2865 (4) –102090 and other admissible allowances. The total LIC AAO salary inclusive of House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), etc. wherever admissible will be approximately INR 92870 per month in ‘A’ Class city. The last date to apply for Assistant Administrative Officer exam was September 8, 2025. The LIC did not extend the LIC AAO application last date.

5. Click on the new registration    
6. Complete the registration form
7. A registration number will be generated.    
8. Login using the registration number and password. 
9. Upload the photograph and signature
10. Fill in other required details and click on the preview to get the preview of LIC AAO application
11. Submit the required LIC AAO application fees (as per category)
12. Click on the Final Submit button to submit the application
13. Login again and take a printout of the LIC AAO confirmation page for future reference
