LIC AAO Preparation 2025: Tips, Strategy & Guide

The LIC AAO preparation tips and strategy are shared below for Prelims and Mains examinations-

• Start your exam preparations by making a concrete study timetable.
• Study for at least 2 hours a day for the Generalist and Specialist exams.
• Go through the entire syllabus and paper pattern. Each topic given in the LIC AAO Syllabus is important.
• Prepare the short notes. 
• Refer to the best LIC AAO books and study materials. 
• Practice through the mock paper.
• Work on speed while practicing for the exam. 
• Revise the already studied topics regularly. 

The candidates should understand the basic concepts of the reasoning topics and practice as much as possible. Practising through the memory-based question papers, previous year questions and mock papers helps candidates in knowing the most asked questions from Reasoning.

Quantitative aptitude is basic mathematics till the matriculation level. Most of the candidates studied mathematics till Higher Secondary level. The candidates must learn the maths-tables till 30 so that they can use them in the questions. Various shortcuts can be employed in the questions. These shortcuts are time saving and essential for the selection. The quant questions are time-consuming and hence require more practice of shortcuts to save time.

The candidate should also learn the squares, cubes, square roots and cube roots until the number 100. This will give them added advantage over others. Data Interpretation is also a time-consuming part and the candidates must practice it beforehand for time-saving during the exam.

General Knowledge and Current Affairs is the most important section because of two reasons. It saves time and can increase the score of the candidates immensely. If the candidates prepare the GK and Current Affairs section in a planned manner, they can save time and improve the score. Most of the candidates can achieve speed and accuracy through practice, but GK and Current Affairs cannot be improved through practice, it needs to be learned.

The candidates should refer to the standard books and NCERTs and try to read as fast as they can in the initial readings. The candidate should try to learn the GK topics as a story with factual data. In the objective type questions, factual data is asked and the candidates should revise the facts multiple time to get a grip on it.

The current Affairs syllabus is ever increasing and the candidates should prepare the notes of current affairs daily. The candidates should prepare for the current events of the national importance of the last six months before the exam.
