SBI Clerk Exam Details
SBI Clerk exam is conducted by SBI every year to recruit candidates for the Clerical Cadre posts. Every year, a large number of graduate candidates apply for the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support and Sales). Candidates who are recruited as SBI clerks are designated as cashiers, depositors and other posts that form the face of a particular SBI Bank branch.
The selection process is divided into two stages-preliminary and mains exams. However, candidates applying for the vacancies of SBI Clerk examination of a particular state should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in the specified opted local language of that State/UT/Special area. The test for knowledge of the specified local language will be conducted as a part of the selection process. It will be conducted after qualifying the SBI Clerk test for mains but before joining the Bank. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be offered an appointment.
Candidates selected through SBI Clerk (Junior Associate) are responsible for all the client interactions and related operations. They are basically designated as cashiers, depositors, etc.

SBI Clerk Exam Day Guidelines
The exam day guidelines related to SBI Clerk exam are given below:
- Candidates are required to carry the printed copy of their admit cards to the exam centre. Along with the SBI Clerk admit card, candidates are required to bring a valid photo-identity proof such as PAN Card/Passport/Permanent Driving License/Voter’s Card/Photo Identity proof with photograph issued by a Gazetted Officer (on official letterhead)/Photo Identity proof issued by a People’s Representative along with a photograph (on official letterhead)/Identity Card issued by a recognised College/ University/Aadhar/E-Aadhar Card with a photograph /Bar Council ID Card with photograph/Employee ID) in original as well as a photocopy. Ration Card and Learner’s Driving License are not accepted as valid ID proof
- Two additional passport-size photographs required
- Carry the prelims admit card for mains exam
- Registration at the exam centre is done through photo capture. The photo captured is matched with the photo uploaded by the candidates in the application form
- Candidates must bring stationery such as pencils, glue, eraser, and a ballpoint pen with them to the examination hall
- Electronic items are not allowed inside the exam centre
- Candidates must wear light clothes that cannot be used for hiding any instruments or communication devices

SBI Clerk Exam Pattern
SBI Clerk exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam. The exam pattern is divided into two phases: preliminary and mains exam. The prelims exam comprises three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The mains exam comprises four sections: General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The mains exam carries a total of 200 marks. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list.
