SBI Clerk Eligibility 2025: State Bank of India (SBI) released SBI Clerk eligibility along with the notification in terms of age limit, educational qualification nationality and number of attempts. According to the SBI Clerk age limit, candidates should be between 20 and 28 years. The educational qualification prescribed for SBI Clerk exam is a Graduation. There is a certain number of attempts within which candidates can apply for the exam. The eligibility criteria are mentioned in SBI Clerk notification. What is the Eligibility for SBI Clerk?

SBI Clerk 2025 is a graduation-level exam conducted to recruit Junior Associates. Candidates from any stream/discipline can apply for the SBI Clerk 2025 exam. The age limit prescribed for the exam is between 20 to 28 years. Candidates applying for the SBI Clerk vacancies of a particular state should be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of the respective state.

Q:   How is SBI Clerk qualifying marks determined?
A:

The qualifying marks are estimated based on the following factors:

  • Total number of candidates
  • Difficulty level

 

Q:   How many SBI Clerk exam centres can I choose?
A:

You can choose one SBI Clerk exam centre each for preliminary and Mains exams. The details regarding the exam centres are mentioned on the admit card. Candidates are allotted exam centres as per their preferences. 

Q:   Can SBI Clerk become SBI PO?
A:

SBI Clerk get opportunities to become a Probationary Officer compared to other banks.  Candidates who are selected for the Clerk position in SBI will be on probation for at least six months.

SBI Clerk Eligibility 2025: Nationality

Candidates must be:

  • Citizenship of India
  • The subject of Nepal and Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugees who have come to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in the country
  • Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from countries like Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya.
Q:   What is SBI Clerk eligibility criteria?
A:

To be eligible for SBI Clerk exam, candidates should be between 20 and 28 years and have completed graduation in any discipline. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation can also apply for the exam provisionally. Relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories. Candidates should check the SBI Clerk eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. The category-wise relaxation given to candidates is given below.

Q:   Can SBI Clerk apply for SBI PO?
A:

Yes, SBI Clerk can apply for SBI PO exam. However, to apply for SBI Clerk exam, candidates need to take permission from the employer. They are also required to provide NOC of the employer. Upon selection, candidates need to resign from the Clerical cadre post and join afresh as PO. No increment will be considered that is your clerical service won't be counted. Candidates applying for the SBI PO post, need to fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down for the exam. To apply for SBI PO, candidates need to have graduation degree from a recognised university. The age of the candidates should be between 21 and 30 years. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation can also apply subject to the condition that they need to provide the required certificate related to the educational qualification. The selection process of SBI PO comprises prelims exam, mains exam, psychometric test, group exercises and interview.

Q:   What emoluments are offered to SBI Clerk?
A:

The total starting emoluments given to the Junior Associates in the metro city such as Mumbai are around INR 29,000 per month, inclusive of DA and other allowances as per the current rate. Besides, two additional increments are given to newly recruited graduate Junior Associates. Earlier, the total starting emoluments for metro cities was INR 26,000. Allowances also vary depending on the place of posting. Candidates are eligible for reimbursement of various perquisites, Provident Fund, Pension under New Pension Scheme (Defined Contribution Benefit), Medical, Leave-Fare, and other facilities as per the requirement of the bank.

Note: Candidates other than permanent citizens of India must get an eligibility certificate approved by the Government of India in their favour.

SBI Clerk Age Limit 2025

The age of candidates for SBI Clerk recruitment must be between 20 and 28 years. SBI Clerk age limit is such that candidates must have born not earlier than August 2, 1994 and not later than August 1, 2002 (Both Days Inclusive). Candidates belonging to the reserved categories are given relaxation in the upper SBI Clerk age limit as per the government rules.

Note: Candidates seeking relaxation in age are required to submit copies of necessary certificates at the time of joining. Candidates cannot change their category after the final submission of the SBI Clerk application form.

SBI Clerk Qualification 2025

SBI Clerk qualification is given below:

  • The SBI Clerk qualification is a graduation
  • Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificates can also apply for the SBI Clerk exam
  • Those who are in the final year/ semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if provisionally selected, they will have to produce proof of having passed the Graduation

Important Points Related to SBI Clerk Educational Qualification

  • The date of passing the eligibility examination is the date appearing on the mark sheet/certificate or provisional certificate issued by the University/Institute. In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University/ Institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University/Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing
  • Matriculate Ex-servicemen, who have obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force, after having completed not less than 15 years of service in Armed Forces of the Union are also eligible for the post

SBI Clerk Eligibility 2025: Reservation for PWD/XS/DXS

The reservation provided to PWD/XS/DXS is given below: 

  • The reservation of the OBC category is only applicable to the 'Non-creamy layer'. Candidates belonging to 'Creamy Layer' cannot avail of the benefits. They need to mention the 'General' or General (LD/VI/HI/ d&e) category
  • Candidates must provide the OBC certificate declaring the candidate to be of 'Non-creamy layer
  • EWS category candidates may avail of the benefits after they produce the 'Income and Asset Certificate' issued by the Government of India
  • Candidates who are currently associated with SBI or in the past are not eligible to appear in the exam
  • If there is an adverse report or weak CIBIL or other agency, such candidates will be rejected
  • PwD candidates need to produce the 'Disability Certificate' issued by Medical or any Component Authority in the district of residence
  • During the appointment, disabled Ex-servicemen and their dependents have priority over dependents of defense personnel killed or highly disabled (50 per cent)

Who Cannot Apply for SBI Clerk 2025?

  • Candidates having adverse reports regarding the character or other related issues
  • Those who have worked with SBI in Clerical or other positions
  • Candidates working with SBI in Clerical or other positions
  • Candidates with adverse CIBIL scores are not eligible to apply

SBI Clerk Apply Online 2025

SBI Clerk application form is released online by SBI. The application fee for the exam is INR 750 for the General and OBC categories. SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS category candidates are exempted from fee payment. Candidates can follow the steps below to fill SBI Clerk application form:

  • Visit the official website 
  • Select the apply online tab on the home page of SBI
  • To register for SBI exam, select the tab ‘Click here for new registration'
  • Enter the basic details to register
  • Upon successful registration, the registration number and password will be generated
  •  Upload the scanned images of photograph and signature
  • Select the SBI Clerk exam centre, educational qualification, work experience, etc
  • Candidates should preview the application form before final submission
  • Applicants should pay the examination fees
  • Take printout of the application form and fee receipt

SBI Clerk Selection Process

BI Clerk selection process comprises three stages, Preliminary exam, Mains exam and Test of specified opted local language. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature and the marks secured in this stage are not counted for the final merit list. The marks obtained in the mains exam are counted for the final merit list as per SBI Clerk selection process. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are called for the language proficiency test.

SBI Clerk Salary

SBI Clerk salary is INR 19,900 (INR 17,900 with two advance increments). The payscale of Junior Associates as per SBI Clerk salary is INR 17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550-1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. Besides, candidates are also entitled to various perks and allowances.
