SBI Clerk 2025 prelims result will be announced soon. The exam was conducted on September 20, 21 and 27, 2025. Candidates can download the SBI Junior Associate result by logging with the required credentials. Along with the result, SBI Clerk cut off will also be made available. SBI Clerk Exam Details

SBI Clerk exam is conducted by SBI every year to recruit candidates for the Clerical Cadre posts. Every year, a large number of graduate candidates apply for the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support and Sales). Candidates who are recruited as SBI clerks are designated as cashiers, depositors and other posts that form the face of a particular SBI Bank branch. 

The selection process is divided into two stages-preliminary and mains exams. However, candidates applying for the vacancies of SBI Clerk examination of a particular state should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in the specified opted local language of that State/UT/Special area. The test for knowledge of the specified local language will be conducted as a part of the selection process. It will be conducted after qualifying the SBI Clerk test for mains but before joining the Bank. Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be offered an appointment. 

Candidates selected through SBI Clerk (Junior Associate) are responsible for all the client interactions and related operations. They are basically designated as cashiers, depositors, etc.

SBI Clerk Exam Day Guidelines 

The exam day guidelines related to SBI Clerk exam are given below:

  • Candidates are required to carry the printed copy of their admit cards to the exam centre. Along with the SBI Clerk admit card, candidates are required to bring a valid photo-identity proof such as PAN Card/Passport/Permanent Driving License/Voter’s Card/Photo Identity proof with photograph issued by a Gazetted Officer (on official letterhead)/Photo Identity proof issued by a People’s Representative along with a photograph (on official letterhead)/Identity Card issued by a recognised College/ University/Aadhar/E-Aadhar Card with a photograph /Bar Council ID Card with photograph/Employee ID) in original as well as a photocopy. Ration Card and Learner’s Driving License are not accepted as valid ID proof 
  • Two additional passport-size photographs required
  • Carry the prelims admit card for mains exam
  • Registration at the exam centre is done through photo capture. The photo captured is matched with the photo uploaded by the candidates in the application form
  • Candidates must bring stationery such as pencils, glue, eraser, and a ballpoint pen with them to the examination hall
  • Electronic items are not allowed inside the exam centre
  • Candidates must wear light clothes that cannot be used for hiding any instruments or communication devices

SBI Clerk exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam. The exam pattern is divided into two phases: preliminary and mains exam. The prelims exam comprises three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The mains exam comprises four sections: General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The mains exam carries a total of 200 marks. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list.

SBI Clerk Negative Marking

There are negative marks for wrong answers in SBI Clerk exam. 1/4th marks are deducted for wrong answers. The marks are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers.

SBI Clerk Normalisation of Marks

Appearing in SBI Clerk Exam

This is the first stage of SBI Clerk selection process. The preliminary exam is an objective-type test for 100 marks. The duration of the test is one hour. Candidates 10 times the number of vacancies are selected for the mains exam. The mains exam comprises four sections and the total marks of the test are 200. Candidates are required to score minimum percentage marks on aggregate, while five per cent relaxation is provided to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates. The merit list is prepared state-wise and category-wise. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are placed according to their aggregate marks in the list, in descending order, as per their respective states and categories.

Declaration of Result 

SBI Clerk result is announced online on the official website. SBI Clerk result displays the qualifying status of the candidates. To qualify the exam, candidates need to secure the required category-wise and state-wise SBI Clerk cutoff marks. The steps to check SBI Clerk result are given below:

Test of Specified Opted Local Language

Candidates have to appear for the test of specified local language opted for at the time of applying. Only candidates qualifying the mains exam are required to appear for the test. Candidates not found proficient in the opted local language are disqualified from the recruitment process. Candidates who have studied the specified local language in Classes 10 and 12 are not required to appear in the local language test. In the case of others, the local language test is compulsory. 

Final Selection

This is subject to qualifying the opted local language test and document verification. The marks obtained in the preliminary exam are not considered for selection. The merit list is prepared based on the marks of the mains exam only.

The salary break-up of SBI Clerk is given below:

Pay Scale The salary of SBI Clerk was revised. The pay scale is INR 17,900-1000/3-20,900-1230/3-24,590-1490/4-30,550-1730/7-42,600-3270/1-45,930-1990/1-47,920. The starting basic pay is INR 19,900 (INR 17,900 plus two increments to graduates). Earlier, the starting basic pay was INR 13,075 (INR 11,765 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates).

SBI Clerk Application Form 2025

SBI Clerk application form was available from August 6 to 26. The apply online link was activated after the notification was published. Candidates who meet the eligibility parameters are required to submit the application form online only. SBI Clerk application process comprises stages such as registration, uploading of scanned photograph and signature, filling the detailed application form, previewing the application, uploading left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration. The application fee is INR 750 and can be paid online only. SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS candidates are exempted from paying the application fees.

SBI prescribes SBI Clerk exam eligibility along with the notification. The eligibility criteria are certain parameters in terms of age, educational qualification and nationality.
