Himachal Pradesh University is recognised by UGC and NAAC. Himachal Pradesh University BA admission is entirely merit-based for the academic year 2024 and candidates seeking admission to the BA at HPU must qualify the Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board. Therefore, Class 12 marks are enough for admission to the BA programme.

Yes, HPU offers three-year BCom at the UG level through Department of Evening Studies. The BCom programme is divided into six semesters. Besides, the university also offers three-year BCom courses through various affiliated colleges. Candidates should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam to apply for HPU BCom programme.

Yes, Himachal Pradesh University accepts NEET score for admission to BAMS. NEET exam is conducted once a year in offline or paper-pencil-based test (PBT) mode for three hours and 20 minutes or 200 minutes. As far as the NEET exam pattern is concerned, there are 200 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, out of which 180 questions have to be attempted. HPU NEET MDS Cutoff 2024 was released for MDS admission. The closing ranks for various course varied between 160 and 642, for the General All India quota candidates. At 500 rank, the course available for the General AI candidates would be MDS in Oral Medicine and Radiology and MDS in Prosthodontics, as these courses have a lenient cutoff.

STEP 1: Application Process

Candidates are first required to fill NEET application form. After NEET, aspirants need to fill out the online application form of HPU. The application fee is INR 2,000 for General and other categories (INR 1,000 for SC/ ST). 

STEP 2: Selection

Himachal Pradesh University selects candidates for BAMS based on NEET score. The university releases a provision category-wise merit list based on NEET score of the candidates.

STEP 3: Counselling and Seat Allotment

Selected candidates are further called for counselling. The result of counselling is made available on the official website of the university. Aspirants are required to confirm the allotted seat by paying the course fee.

No, candidates won't be able to get admission to HPU with 700 as the HPU cutoff 2024 in itself is 642 for MDS in Prosthodontics course under General quota, considering the last-round of seat allotment results. However, for OBC AI quota, 700 rank is more than enough to get admission at HPU. The HPU OBC cutoff 2024 stood at 761. 

Th HPU NEET MDS Cutoff 2025 was released for all categories under the All India quota. For the OBC AI quota, the closing cutoff ranged from 333 to 524 in the last round. Among all the MDS course specialisations, the hardest was MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with a cutoff rank of 333 for this category. In 2024, the cutoff rank for this course was 462, meaning that the competition has now increased for 2025.
