Mystory@Asna Jamal: How I chose my course and college – Challenges and learnings
Like many other people who were confused about choosing their career path, so was I. But with time, and having explored about different fields and careers, I came to a conclusion that I should enter a field that interests me and which I have the capability to pursue.
I decided to get into mass communication programme and joined coaching classes at New Parameter to prepare for entrance tests. I found the institute really good. To have more than one option for college admission in my chosen course, I filled up the forms of Jamia Millia Islamia and IP College and gave the entrance exams for both universities.
I got a rank around 3000 in IP University, which was so bad that the university allotted me a college which I did not want to join. So I ended up missing a seat and had to drop one year. I decided to move on and explore other options where I could get admission. I filled BA form for Delhi University and got admission in DU. After completing graduation, I plan to pursue further studies and do MBA too.
How I chose my course and college ?
One question we all come across after class 10th is what subjects do we need to choose now? Where do we want to lead ourselves to? Choosing a stream and subjects in class 11th was no a difficult task for me. I was really sure about taking Commerce and to work hard and make my career in this field. I was literally prepared for Commerce with Math.
Sometimes you don’t get what you want, so yes, it happened with me but then I chose not to give up and cry over it. I decided to move ahead and work towards my goals. Not BJMC, but this time I worked hard to get to where I am today and it was nothing but my determination to get into the course and college I am in.
My college experience
I spend my time in college with my friends. We eat, talk, dance, and most of the time we bunk all our classes and whenever we attend our classes we only enjoy there and do naughtiness with our classmates and lecturers.
Earlier, I was a part of movie society, dramatics society, dance society, singing society, debating society and NCC but I left everything because I was not able to manage time and I wanted to enjoy my life with my friends. That's why I left all of it and I am happier now. If given a chance I would like to decrease the lecture timings and banish the criteria of 5 marks for attendance.
If I talk about what changes has college brought about in me, one major change is I used to stay up late nights and sleep more in the day, but now as I have to get up early in the morning, I sleep early and wake up on time.

Hi.
AIR 700 is a very good rank in NEET PG. At MAMC:
Highly Competitive Branches (Hard even at 700)
MD Radiodiagnosis
MD Dermatology
MD General Medicine
MS General Surgery
For General category under AIQ, these usually close within 300–800 (varies yearly).
At 700, you are borderline for top clinical branch
