Ashoka Aptitude Test 2026 Admission Process

Registration

First, you need to make a registration on the official Ashoka University website for AAT 2026. Make sure the email you type is right, because all your login info gets sent there only. Most updates and messages from the university also come to that same email, so you should keep checking it once in a while.

Fill the Ashoka University Application Form

After you finish the registration, then you can start filling the Ashoka University application form online. For UG admissions 2026, there is no fee for submitting the form. Just write all the details carefully, and maybe recheck them before you send it. You also need to upload your documents and your photo with the form.

Give AAT

If you get shortlisted, then you have to appear in the Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT). This AAT test happens online and later there is a Personal Interview too.

AAT Process

  • Write Essay: On the interview day, students must write one essay on the spot. Everyone has to do it. You get around 30 minutes, and the essay should not cross 650 words.
  • AAT Exam: The online test has 40 MCQs. The questions are mostly problem-solving (numerical, spatial reasoning) and also critical-thinking types like simple argument understanding.

Appear for Interview Round

When you clear AAT, then Ashoka University calls you for a panel interview. They talk to you to understand you better before making the selection. After your interview, you can get one of these results:

  • Firm admission offer
  • Conditional admission offer
  • Waitlisted (maybe you get an offer later in the cycle)
  • Deferred (maybe after your final class XII marks)
  • Denied admission

Once the interviews are done, the university puts out the list of selected candidates. If your name shows up in the Ashoka University Admission list, you need to pay the offer-confirmation fee before the given deadline so your seat stays safe.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   What should I expect during the interview following Ashoka Aptitude Test?
A:

Only students that pass the aptitude test of the Ashoka University admission procedure will be shortlisted for the interview round. The questions asked during the interview are designed to evaluate the candidates personality more than their knowledge of their chosen subject. According to the university's website, the interview seeks to understand and get to know the candidate, their story and their background. Moreover, the interview is conducted to judge the candidates' suitability for the university's academic and residential programmes. The interview is conducted by a panel of the admission committe members and the duration of the interview varies from student to student.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in the essay section of Ashoka Aptitude Assessment?

Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
Q:   How is Ashoka University? Is it worthy to spend that kind of money for it?
A:
The answer to the second question first. Yes, it has a good name and it asks for money where one has to ask this question. As far as I have known the people who studied there and the image that this university has created, the amount (if you comfortably afford) is worth spending. This is also to be noted that this university has a name in Management education where they are providing some out of the box things. Haryana Government took them along in the ambitious Good Governance Associate project. You should try to join the university.
Q:   How can I get admission in Ashoka University, Haryana for B.Sc economics honours?
A:

Students will be selected based on their potential for academic rigor and extra-curricular engagement. These include AAT Ashoka Aptitude Test or ACT (American College Testing) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) scores or 10+2 marks projects, and research, if applicable, as well as the disciplined and committed pursuit of varied interests and passions. Equally, the on-the-spot essay written at the time of the interview and the in-person interview with the panel, also contribute to the decision for admission. Thanks!

To prepare the AAT study timetable, set daily and weekly goals. Give more time to weaker areas and dedicate appropriate time for revision. Try to stay consistent throughout preparation journey.
