Types of 5-Year LLB Courses

This is an integrated undergraduate law program. This course combines a bachelor's degree with the study of law. The course provides a comprehensive understanding of various legal subjects along with a foundation in a general bachelor's degree, typically arts, commerce, or business administration. The types of 5-year Law Courses are the following: 

1. BA LLB

2. BBA LLB 

3. B.Com LLB

4. B.Sc LLB

Eligibility Criteria for 5-Year LLB Law Course

The eligibility criteria for a 5-year LLB course can is as follows:

Educational Qualification Candidates must be 10+2 pass with atleast 40% to 45%.
Age Limit The age limit for admission can vary. Some institutions may have an upper age limit, commonly around 20 years for general category students and 22 years for reserved categories. However, many institutions have removed the upper age limit following the Bar Council of India's recommendation.
Reservation Criteria Reservation policies as per government regulations may apply, offering a certain percentage of seats reserved for SC/ST/OBC and other categories.

5-Year LLB Course Admission Process

There are two main methods for admission to a 5-year LLB course: merit-based admission and admission through a law entrance exam. These two methods have been described below: 

Merit-based Admission 

Candidates can apply to law colleges by filling out the application form. Thereafter, colleges prepare merit lists based on applicants’ scores in the qualifying exam (Class 12 exam). Applicants whose names appear on the merit lists will be eligible for admission. This method is called a merit-based admission process. 

Admission based on Entrance Exams

This is the prominent method for admission to a 5-year LLB course. In this method, candidates need to take a national or state law entrance exam for admission to top colleges in India.
