GMCET 2026 Pattern: The GMEC (Global Media Education Council) declares the GMCET exam pattern for UG and PG Courses at gmcet.org. The exam pattern includes the mode of the examination, sections, test duration, number of questions, and the marking scheme. According to the GMCET exam structure, there are four sections in the GMCET 2026 exam: General knowledge of society, politics, economy, history; Brands and Business related basic questions; Films, television, radio, entertainment related questions; and IQ questions, applied ones. Each section will be of 25 marks.

Examinees must be familiar with the GMCET pattern so that they can prepare for it efficiently. Once students clear the MCQ test, they will be called for further steps of the admission process. According to the GMCET 2026 pattern, students can take the GMCET online from anywhere on their own devices. Global Media Common Entrance Test is an all South Asia entrance examination that offers admission of qualified candidates to undergraduate media courses. The colleges that come under the GMCET exam are - Sharda University, National School of Journalism, Alliance University, Auro University, Presidency University, Noida International University, LNCT University, GITAM University, Mody University, Jagran Lakecity University, Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University, Centurion University, NSHM Knowledge Campus, Invertis University, Vivekananda Global University, and Bahra University.

GMCET 2026 Pattern

The GMCET 2026 exam will be conducted in online mode. Candidates will have to appear for the entrance test from their home on their personal laptop or desktop. Applicants will be given a time slot to appear for the exam, and they will be requested to log in at least 15 minutes before the examination. The test slots for the exam day will be informed a day before the entrance exam at the candidate's registered email and mobile number. The GMCET question paper consists of 100 objective-type questions of one mark each. Candidates will get 60 minutes to complete the test.

The GMCET entrance exam does not have any sectional time limit. The GMCET question paper will have four sections and candidates will have to answer the questions within 60 minutes. Each section will have 25 questions of one mark each.

Q:   How many marks will be deducted if I skip a question in GMCET paper?
A: 

No, there is no such deduction of marks for skipping any question or leaving them not attempted in the Global Media Common Entrance Test (GMCET). Candidates can safely skip a question if they do not know the correct answer. They will be marked zero for skipping the question.

Unlike other entrance examinations, there are no interviews for the Global Media Common Entrance Test  (GMCET) exam. The admisison process of the Global Media Common Entrance Test consists of registration, filling out the application form, appearing for the examination, and qualifying it. As per their result, candidates will be given an AIR ranking and as per the ranking these qualified candidates will have to appear for the document verification process and submit the fee of the college/university they have been allotted.

Q:   Is GMCET a center-based exam?

No, GMCET is not a center based exam. It is an online exam, which candidates can give from the comfort of their homes. The exam can be given from a laptop/desktop. The details and instructions related to exam will be mentioned on GMCET admit card.
