Preparing for Board exams and at the same time, deciding upon which stream you want to choose for your career, is quite a difficult task altogether. Class 12th is that time in any student’s life which is full of pressure and lots of tense moments. Something similar happened with me as well and while I was preparing for my exams, I was into a great deal of pressure of scoring a good percentile as well as choosing a career line which would be beneficial for me in all terms. As I used to participate a lot in cultural activities during my school days, I decided to go into the media line and do something which was very creative and different from usual studies.
I thought of going for Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication then. Now, when it came to choosing the right college, which definitely helps a person groom in the right way, I chose to go for IP University (Indraprastha University). If you are looking for colleges in Delhi for mass communication, you will find very few of them under Delhi University.
The procedure for college selection
The procedure of IP University is quite simple and you go through an online counselling session, where you are given the right to choose your college according to the rank you scored in IPU CET.
After you go through IPU CET, the rank in the exam will decide which college you are eligible for. There will be three rounds of counselling and one spot counselling round. As soon as you find a suitable college, you have to freeze up your seat and pay some amount online for that.
IPU CET entrance test
This test will basically decide the admission to your dream college. I personally did not go for any kind of coaching classes, but yes, for better results, you can definitely join one. Without any coaching and help, I managed to score a rank 1256 and could easily get Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies, but due to some reasons, I did not fill up this college in my choice list, and eventually got stuck with Kasturi Ram College of Higher Education.
It is easy to crack the entrance exam and secure a good rank if you focus on the book itself which comes every year, specifically for IPU.
My college experience
When you move to college from school, you expect your life to turn out cool and that too so suddenly, which is not the case here for sure. There are some rules which are exactly like the ones you had to follow in school.
I am in the final year now, and if you ask me about my experience in a college where you have to do only one thing and that is study, I learned a lot of things, and I came across real-life challenges. Though this college is not meant for people who are looking for a good practical exposure, yes, for people who are looking for a good amount of theoretical knowledge, this college is definitely for them.
Career choice
If you ask me about how I chose my career, my college paid a good contribution to it. After the first semester, every student has to do an internship in any print media firm. I chose a digital marketing firm which was out of the blue, of course, but this thing actually made me decide that I will go for digital marketing and content writing. Today, it's been one year since I am an experienced freelance content writer. At the same time, I also did an internship in a Hindi newspaper where I learned Hindi typing. So, in total, I'm very much satisfied with my career and course choice for sure.
Tips on choosing the right career
The only thing I will advise all students who are paddling hard to move their cycle of life is that always follow what you love; this will give you dedication and concentration on your own. And in case you don't know what you love, then just find out where your interests lie by using your brains in everything you do and in everything you see. You will surely find the thing you will love to do all your life.

Because you applied to IPU using your CUET score, the course allocation will take place via their online counselling rounds. Generally, once the CUET results are out, IPU will come up with a merit list and follow-up with counselling in stages. If you've registered and uploaded your documents, then y

Both IPU and DU are public/ government universities and are one of the oldest universities. DU admissions are tough because of the high cutoff for some colleges, whereas for IPU, admissions are comparatively easy for some colleges with low cut-offs.
