To appear for GD and PI, the students need to get their documents verified. The documents required for GD and PI are given below:
- Class 10 Marksheet
- Class 12 Marksheet
- Graduation Marksheet
- Photocopy of Application
- 4 Passport Size
- CAT, MAT, CMAT Scorecard
The details of the GD based on my personal experience are given below:
GD Topic- Game is Good for Student or Not?
Number of Participants -12 (Divided into two groups of six members each)
The first group of six members would discuss against the motion, i.e. the game is not good for students whereas the second group would discuss for the motion, i.e. game is good for students
Yes, CAT syllabus is difficult to crack if you do not have enough time. There are three subjects in CAT- VARC, DILR and Quantitative Aptitude. Most of the candidates find RC passages tough to crack. In Quants, Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry pose significant challenge during preparation. In DILR, Reasoning questions often turnout to be tricky and confusion.
CAT is a speed based test which is designed to assess a candidate's analytical aptitude, logical reasoning skills, data interpretation and English comprehension. Now, it may sound tough, but these are the skills which we are taught in school so there is nothing new to learn. What is required is to learn these subjects at advanced level. If you are an average student but have studied Science or commerce in Class-12 and graduation, you will find a lot of familiar topics in Data Interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. All you will need is brush up the basics and practice the concepts on advance level problems.
However, since the competition is so high in CAT and less than 95 percentile can break your dream of joining a top college like IIM, the preparation for CAT requires a lot of focus, dedication, discipline and diligence. If you can do that, despite being an average student, you can crack the CAT exam.
After this, the interviewer gave one minute to think about the topic. Every participant has to individually summarise the topic in one minute. In the GD, some of the people spoke well for a minute however, the rest spoke for less than a minute. The GD began after the summarisation. The discussion was moderate and all the participants put forward their points.
I started the discussion and gave my opinion in favour of the topic. I was quite satisfied with my performance.
The first group was speaking against the motion, merely spoke about PUBG game. They discussed the game addiction, wastage of time, etc.
The second group was speaking in favour of the topic given. I was also a member of this group, we discussed points such as a mindful game, the positive effect of playing the game like concentration power, problem-solving abilities, quick-thinking and so on.
Personal Interview (PI)
The excerpts from my PI are given below:
Q– Tell me something about yourself.
Me-I told my personal and professional information. My hobbies, specific areas, etc. After that, the interviewers asked questions related to my introduction
Q- What is formula of sugar? (Related to question from chemistry because I have got 96 marks out of 100.
Me- Formula of sugar is c12H22O11.
Q- What kind of movies do you watch? (From my hobby)
Me- Hollywood (Action, Fantasy and Adventure) movies. Moreover, told about some of my favourite movies
Q-Have you watched All is Lost movie?
Me- No, I haven’t
Q- How to start and close HTML tags? (Question from my graduation (BCA)
Me- I answered starting tag of html is - , and closing tag of html is
Q- What is your family background?
Me- I answered, about my Father and mother occupation and about my brother and sister, what they do.
Q-How will you study by taking an education loan or your parents will pay?
Me- it depends upon the college fee. If the college fee is more than my expectation then I will take education loan otherwise, my parents will pay.
