TANCET exam centres 2026 are released along with the release of the exam details. Anna University, the conducting body, will conduct the TANCET 2026 as per the schedule. The notification will host the important details such as exam dates/schedule, exam pattern, syllabus, etc. The TANCET exam centres are located in different parts of Tamil Nadu. The entrance exam will likely be conducted across 15 cities in Tamil Nadu. Candidates have to choose their preferred exam centre while filling the TANCET application form. While the authorities will try to allot the TANCET 2026 test centre in the city of their preference, in case of non-availability of seats at the test centres of the chosen city, the authority has the right to change the candidate’s TANCET 2026 exam centre to another city. Q:   In which cities are the TANCET exam centres located?
A: 

TANCET exam is conducted across 15 cities in Tamil Nadu. These cities include:

Candidates must choose one exam city while filling the TANCET application form. An exam centre will be allocated within the preferred exam city.

Q:   Can I request for TANCET exam city outside Tamil Nadu state?
A: 
Candidates need to choose an exam city from the list of 15 cities situated in Tamil Nadu. Candidates do not get the option to choose any city of their wish. The choice is to be made among these 15 cities of Tamil Nadu only. Any requests for a change of exam city or exam centre will not be entertained. Candidates must make arrangements for travel to the exam centre as soon as they get the TANCET hall ticket. It is always advisable to know the exact location of the centre before the exam day to avoid any unnecessary hassles on the TANCET exam date.
Q:   Can I change the TANCET exam city after issuance of the hall ticket?
A: 
No. Change in the TANCET exam city is not allowed. Anna University will use the test city selected by the candidates while filling the form to allocate the exam centre. Requests for change in the TANCET exam city are not entertained in any circumstance. Besides the exam city, candidates are not allowed to raise requests for a change of exam centres within an exam city. Any requests for change other than any discrepancy in the hall ticket will not be entertained. Therefore, candidates must try to make travel arrangements beforehand if the test centre location is not desirable.

Q:   Can I show a digital copy of TANCET admit card at the exam centre?
A: 
No, candidates must carry a printed copy of their TANCET admit card to the exam centre. A digital copy of the TANCET admit card will not be accepted at the exam centre. Soon after downloading the admit card from the official exam website, candidates must take a printout of the admit card on A4-sized paper in black and white or colour. The printed TANCET admit card must showcase all the details clearly. Additionally, the admit card of TANCET exam must not be distorted or blurred in any way. TANCET admit card serves as proof of identity of the candidate on the exam day. Candidates will also have to show the TANCET admit card at the time of counselling process. TANCET admit card comprises important information related to the exam, including the exam centre, date and time of the exam, and other exam day guidelines. Therefore, it is recommended that candidates retain the admit card in the original form even after they come out of the TANCET exam centre.
Q:   What happens if I arrive late at the TANCET exam centre?
A: 
The authorities at the TANCET exam centre will not allow any late comers to appear in the TANCET exam. Applicants appearing for the exam are advised to arrive at the exam centre at least 60 minutes before the exam commencement time. Officials at the TANCET exam centre check the identity of the candidates before allowing them to enter the test location. Candidates should enter inside the TANCET exam centre before the GATE closing time. Besides the late entry, officials at the exam centre do not allow the candidates to leave the exam centre before the schedule time of exam conclusion.
Q:   What items can be carried inside the exam center of TANCET?
A: 
The TANCET is a state level entrance exam for MBA admissions in colleges across Tamil Nadu. Candidates must ensure they do not carry any prohibited items in an exam centre. As per the instructions given by the exam conducting authority, that is Anna University, candidates are allowed to carry only a few items inside the TANCET exam centre. These items include TANCET admit card, a valid photo ID proof, face mask, hand sanitiser, and water bottle. Candidates are not allowed to carry any electronic devices, including mobile phones, calculators, pagers, smartwatches, digital watches, or any other electronic gadgets inside the exam hall. Additionally, candidates are not allowed to carry any study material, papers, or notes inside the exam hall.

How to Select TANCET Exam Centre?

Candidates must follow the steps below to select their choice of TANCET test centre:

  • After TANCET 2026 registration, candidates will be provided with a unique TANCET key
  • Using login credentials and TANCET key, candidates can fill TANCET application form
  • In the Examination Details field, candidates will be asked to select the choice of the examination i.e. between MBA, MCA or MTech/M.Arch/M.E/MPlan and then to select one out of the 15 test cities
  • After selecting the test city, candidates can proceed to upload the photograph section

Note: Candidates should be careful while selecting TANCET exam centre city as any request for change of the same after form submission will not be entertained.

Q:   What other supporting documents do I need to carry other than TANCET admit card at the exam centre?

Anna University releases the TANCET admit card every year at least a week before the exam date. Candidates are able to download the TANCET hall ticket from the official website. Applicants appearing in the exam can download the TANCET admit card using the email ID and password. Along with the TANCET admit card, candidates must carry some supporting documents to the exam centre. A valid photo ID proof must be accompanied along with the hall ticket to the exam centre. Any of the following documents must be carried along with the TANCET admit card: 1. Voter ID 2. Passport 3. Driving License 4. PAN card or any other Government issued ID proof.

No, all the TANCET centres may not have a locker facility. Therefore, candidates must not carry any electronic devices with them to the exam centre. The exam authority will not allow the candidates to carry any electronic devices inside the exam centre of TANCET. Candidates are advised to read all the instructions and guidelines carefully as mentioned in the TANCET admit card. The items restricted inside the TANCET exam centre, include smart phones, calculators, pagers, Bluetooth devices, etc. Candidates can carry their personal items like face mask, water bottle and others.

Candidates can add the test city preference while filling the application form. One exam city can be chosen from the drop-down menu available inside the registration dashboard. The steps to complete the application process and choose the exam city preference is as follows: 1) Complete the one time registration 2) Login using email ID and password 3) Fill personal details 4) Fill educational details 5) Fill exam details, including test city preference 6) Upload documents 7) Pay application fee. Candidates can only choose once exam centre preference while filling the form.

TANCET 2026 Exam Centre: Exam day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for TANCET 2026 are advised to go through the exam day guidelines carefully.

  • Reach the TANCET exam centre at least an hour ahead of the reporting time
  • Carry a TANCET hall ticket along with a valid identity proof
  • Do not carry electronic devices to the examination hall
  • Refrain from carrying any item that may be in violation of examination rules
  • Read all the instructions carefully before writing the TANCET 2026 exam

Documents to be carried along with TANCET Admit Card

Candidates are required to carry a valid photo ID proof along with a TANCET admit card. These should be a Government or officially issued photo identity card for verification purposes. The list of documents that can be carried is as follows:

  • Aadhar card

  • College/University ID
  • Driver's license
  • Or any other identity proof issued by the Government of India

Given the pandemic situation, candidates will be allowed to carry their personal water bottle and hand sanitiser bottle (50 ml). Also, they need to keep wearing a mask throughout the duration spent at the TANCET test centre.
