NEET MDS question paper has two time-bound sections- Part A and Part B. The Part A of the exam comprises 100 questions and Part B has 140 questions. It is expected that the NEET MDS syllabus 2026 will be the same as last year. Last year also, there was no change in the NEET MDS syllabus. The syllabus of NEET MDS is based on the BDS curriculum, which they had studied while pursuing their undergraduate Dental course. Talking about the NEET MDS syllabus, the exam conducting authority NBE has stated, "The syllabus for the exam shall be that of BDS standard and shall cover all the subjects/syllabus taught during the BDS course as prescribed in the DCI Revised BDS Course Regulations, 2007 as amended from time to time."

No, and this is an important update for 2026 admission to all MDS seats, whether government, private, or management quota, is strictly through NEET MDS counselling. Direct admission without NEET MDS qualification is illegal. So don't fall for any college claiming to offer a "direct admission" route.

The NEET MDS counselling is generally conducted in four rounds. The counselling is held for 50% AIQ seats.

Yes, NEET MDS is absolutely mandatory and there is no way around it. NEET MDS qualification is mandatory even for management quota seats, as per Dental Council of India (DCI) guidelines. The NEET MDS registration 2027 is expected to start in March. The official dates regarding the registration and application form will be announced soon.
