The NEET SS 2024 Cutoff for Stray Round Counselling was reduced to zero, or completely removed. NBE has stated, "The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India vide letter dated 10th July 2025 has allowed all the candidates who had appeared for NEET-SS 2024 exam with an eligible broad speciality degree (MD/MS/DNB) to participate in the Stray round of NEET-SS Super Specialty Counseling 2024." Hence, whoever appeared for the NEET SS 2024 exam and fulfilled the educational and internship criteria, can participate in the NEET SS 2024 counselling Round 3.

NEET SS 2024 Cutoff was released by NBEMS on April 25, 2025, along with the NEET SS result 2024. The NEET SS cutoff 2024 scores for all 15 groups have been released and it is the 50th percentile. The total marks of the NEET SS exam is 600. While the highest cutoff is for the Respiratory Medicine Group, the lowest cutoff is for the Orthopaedics Group.

The NEET SS cutoff is the minimum percentile of marks required to qualify for the exam in that particular super speciality. Candidates who score the minimum cutoff score are eligible for NEET SS 2024 counselling, which is being conducted from May 13 to July 7, 2025. The NEET SS 2024 exam was held on March 29 and March 30, 2025.

Q: When will NBE release NEET SS cutoff?

NBE or the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the NEET SS exam conducting authority, releases the cutoff scores or the qualifying scores along with the result. Even though NBE announces the NEET SS qualifying percentile in the information bulletin, the exact qualifying marks, or the NEET SS cutoff is released on the day of the result declaration. The NEET SS 2024 cutoff has been released on April 25, 2025, along with the result.

Q: Will the NEET SS rank list change if the cut off is revised?

No, revision of the NEET SS cutoff or qualifying percentile will not affect the rank obtained by the candidate in any way. However, in case the NEET SS cutoff is lowered, and more candidates qualify for the exam, then all those candidates will be eligible to participate in the NEET SS counselling process. Last year, additional rounds of NEET SS counselling were conducted since the cutoff was reduced later, to give equal scope to the newly qualified candidates of the exam. However, their merit positions or the All India Ranks did not change.

Q: Will there be a reduction in the NEET SS cutoff?

The NEET SS 2024 cutoff has been reduced to zero prior to the Round 3 counselling. In a letter written by the Government of India to NBEMS, the exam conducting body, it has been stated that candidates who have appeared for the NEET SS 2024 counselling and have fulfilled the exam eligibility criteria can participate in the third round of the exam counselling. In the past two years, MCC had reduced cut off for NEET SS by 20 percentile for each speciality.

NEET SS Cutoff: Revising the Qualifying Percentile

MCI will revise the qualifying cutoff for NEET SS 2023 if the number of qualified candidates is less than the number of seats available for the super speciality course. NMC has recommenced to reduce the NEET SS cutoff 2023 to 20 points, or 20th percentile. In such cases, the qualifying NEET SS 2023 cutoff will differ from course to course.

NEET SS Cutoff for 2020, as revised by MCI:

The cut off reduced to 45th percentile
The revised NEET SS cutoff 2020 scores equivalent to percentile was released for 32 super specialities

NEET SS Cutoff for 2019, as revised by MCI:

The minimum qualifying percentile for CTVS, Cardiology and Paediatric Surgery was lowered to 20^th percentile
For the remaining Super Specialty courses, the revised qualifying percentile was lowered to the 40^th percentile
