When will NBE release NEET SS cutoff?

NBE or the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the NEET SS exam conducting authority, released the cutoff scores or the qualifying scores along with the result on January 23, 2026. Even though NBE announces the NEET SS qualifying percentile in the information bulletin, the exact qualifying marks, or the NEET SS cutoff is released on the day of the result declaration.

What is NEET SS Cutoff?

The NEET SS cutoff is segregated into two parts- NEET SS qualifying cut off marks and NEET SS admission cutoff rank. The qualifying NEET SS cutoff is prepared by the NBE and is the minimum percentile needed by a canddiate to be eligible for admission counselling process for DM and MCh courses. On the other hand, the NEET SS admission cutoff is prepared by the MCC. It is the minimum rank required by candidates to take admission to a particular speciality and college.

Will there be a reduction in the NEET SS cutoff?

It is up to the NBE or MCC to reduce the NEET SS cutoff. The reduction in the NEET SS cut off is informed by the authorities through a notice. The NEET SS 2024 cutoff was reduced to zero prior to the Round 3 counselling. Moreover, the MCC had reduced cut off for NEET SS by 20 percentile for each speciality in 2023 and 2022.

What is a good score in NEET SS?

Revision of MCC NEET SS Cutoff Rank

MCC revises the qualifying cutoff for NEET SS exam if the number of qualified candidates is less than the number of seats available for the super speciality course. Even the NMC may recommend to reduce the NEET SS cutoff. In such cases, the qualifying NEET SS cut off marks differ from course to course. NEET SS Cutoff for 2024 Reduced to Zero

NEET SS 2024 Cutoff for Stray Round Counselling was reduced to zero, or completely removed. NBE stated, "The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India ... has allowed all the candidates who had appeared for NEET-SS 2024 exam with an eligible broad speciality degree (MD/MS/DNB) to participate in the Stray round of NEET-SS Super Specialty Counseling 2024."

NEET SS Cutoff for 2020, as revised by MCI:

The cut off reduced to 45th percentile
The revised NEET SS cutoff 2020 scores equivalent to percentile was released for 32 super specialities

NEET SS Cutoff for 2019, as revised by MCI:

The minimum qualifying percentile for CTVS, Cardiology and Paediatric Surgery was lowered to 20^th percentile
For the remaining Super Specialty courses, the revised qualifying percentile was lowered to the 40^th percentile
