NEET SS 2025: Exam Dates (December 26-27), Application (Nov 5-25), Pattern, Groups, Result and Cutoff

The NEET SS 2025 exam will be conducted on December 26 and 27, 2025. The computer-based test (CBT) will be conducted over two days and two slots. NEET SS 2025

The NEET SS 2025 exam will be conducted on December 26 and December 27, 2025. The NEET SS 2025 information bulletin and application form have been released on November 5, 2025, 3 PM. The last date of application is November 25, 2025, 11.55 PM.  

The computer-based test (CBT) will be conducted over two days and two slots. The duration of each shift will be 150 minutes or 2.5 hours. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the exam conducting body, postponed the NEET SS 2025 date on October 16, 2025, through an official notification.

The Supreme Court of India has dismissed a plea challenging the dates of NEET SS 2025. SC bench led by Chief Justice B.R. Gavai and Justice Augustine George Masih, while hearing a petition which highlighted a likely conflict between the NEET SS exam dates, set for December 26 and 27, 2025, and ongoing final-year university examinations for MD/MS/DNB courses at various medical institutions across India, dismissed the petition.

Originally, NBEMS had announced the NEET SS 2025 exam dates on August 4, 2025. The exam was scheduled for November 7 and November 8, 2025. On October 16, 2025, the authorities announced the postponement of the exam dates to December 27 and December 28, 2025. The exam dates were revised again on October 22, 2025. Announcing the same, NBEMS stated, "NEET-SS 2025, which was tentatively scheduled to be held on 7th and 8th November 2025, shall now be conducted on 26th and 27th December 2025. This has approval from NMC and MoHFW. The dates for conduct of NEET-SS 2025 as notified vide NBEMS notice dated 16.10.2025 should therefore be read accordingly.”

There are a total of 15 groups or super speciality subjects, which were scheduled within these two days and four shifts of the NEET SS exam. Till 2023, there were 12 groups. Last year, three groups were added. Candidates have to select the papers during the NEET SS application process, which will be conducted tentatively for a duration of two weeks. It is expected that the NEET SS 2025 exam pattern will remain the same as last year, wherein time-bound sections were introduced. The NEET SS syllabus includes the curriculum for MD/MS courses or postgraduate medical education.

NEET SS 2025 Exam Pattern

The NEET SS exam pattern changed last year. Time-bound sections have been introduced. While the total number of questions and duration remained the same, the questions were divided into three sections of 50 questions each, with a duration of 50 minutes. NEET SS 2025 Syllabus

There are a total of 15 course groups, each consisting of several subjects or specialisations. The table below brings the list of course groups and the subjects covered under those or the NEET SS syllabus.

NEET SS Question Paper Analysis

The NEET SS question paper is provided onscreen as it is a computer-based test (CBT). The exam level is likely to range from moderate to tough. The NEET SS question papers are expected to consist majority of topics from the syllabus or postgraduate medical curriculum. In general, technical glitches or snags are not common in the NEET SS exam. According to students, the NEET SS 2024 question paper was of a moderate to tough difficulty level. The questions and topics were from the expected lines. While some groups, such as Obstetrics and Gynaecology questions were easier than last year, some other groups, such as Medical Oncology and Critical Care Medicine, were tougher than last year.

NEET SS 2025 Exam Cities

The total number of test cities has been increased from 36 to 43. The list of cities for NEET SS exam centres is as follows:

NEET SS 2025 Result

The NEET SS result 2025 will be released by January 28, 2026, tentatively within a month of conducting the exam. The NEET SS result will be out on the exam website in the form of merit list and scorecard.  

The procedure to check the NEET SS result 2025 is given below:

• Go to the official website of NBE-nbe.edu.in or directly enter the link https://natboard.edu.in/parinam/cetss/viewresult
• Select ‘NEET SS’ from the tabs given on the home page
• Click on the 'Results' tab
• Select the result PDF for the respective super speciality course
• Scroll through the list to find the NEET SS 2025 roll number
• Check the marks and rank obtained in the PDF
• Save the NEET SS 2024 result for future reference

How to Download NEET SS 2025 Scorecard

Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to download the NEET SS 2025 scorecard:

• Visit the official website of NEET SS 2025
• Click on the 'Login' tab
• Enter the NEET SS 2025 User ID, Password and Security Code or Captcha
• Click on the 'Scorecard' tab
• Download the NEET SS 2025 Scorecard PDF

Candidates are advised to take multiple printouts of the NEET SS scorecard and preserve it properly till the admission process is completed.

NEET SS Cutoff

NEET SS cutoff refers to the minimum score or percentile to obtain to qualify for the exam. The NEET SS cutoff has been released along with the results.

The course-wise NEET SS 2024 cutoff scores are given in the below table.

During the NEET SS Counselling 2024, the Ministry of Health had reduced the NEET SS cutoff to zero. Those who had appeared for the NEET SS 2024 exam could participate in the fourth or Stray Round Counselling. 

NEET SS 2025 Counselling

The NEET SS counselling process will be conducted tentatively from February 2026 to April 2026. The NEET SS counselling is conducted for admission to DM, MCh and DNB SS seats across India, for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Only those candidates who would qualify for the exam by securing the NEET SS cutoff marks will be eligible to participate in the counselling process of NEET SS 2025. The total duration of NEET SS 2025 counselling is likely to range from three to four months, and the rounds may extend based on vacant seats.

NEET SS or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Super Speciality Courses) is conducted by the National Board of Education for admission to various DM/ MCh and DNB courses. It is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination for admission to medical super-speciality courses.
