What is NEET SS 2026?
NEET SS or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Super Speciality Courses) is conducted by the National Board of Education for admission to various DM/ MCh and DNB courses. It is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination for admission to medical super-speciality courses. According to the Indian Medical Council Act, 2016, no other entrance test is valid for admission to these courses. The duration of the NEET SS exam will be 150 minutes or 2.5 hours. The first shift will be conducted from 9 AM to 11.30 AM, and the second shift will be conducted from 2 PM to 4.30 PM.

According to the latest exam pattern of NEET SS, there are 150 multiple-choice questions, from broad speciality and super speciality course. There will be three time-bound sections of 50 minutes each, carrying 50 questions. The question paper is of 600 marks. The question paper will consist of questions from the General/Basic component of the primary feeder broad specialty subject and from all sub-specialty/systems/component of that primary feeder broad specialty subject. NEET SS 2026 For Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals who wish to pursue a super-speciality course in India need to appear for the NEET SS 2026 examination and clear it. Such candidates do not need to be registered with the MCI/ SMC, provided he/ she is duly registered with the appropriate authority in his/ her own country.
On securing a seat through NEET SS, the MCI may grant temporary registration to these candidates for the duration of the postdoctoral course. This registration will be temporary and will be limited to the medical college/ institution to which he/she is admitted.
The authorities have further notified that the prior eligibility criteria for admission to DM/MCh/DrNB courses shall be as per the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023. NBE has stated, "Foreign Nationals, including Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders, can appear in NEET-SS 2026 without registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC). The NMC may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Doctoral course limited to the medical college/institution to which he/she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postdoctoral studies."

- Registered candidates who were not allotted seat in Round 1

NEET SS Exam Pattern 2026
NBE releases the NEET SS 2026 exam pattern along with the information bulletin. NEET SS is the postgraduate super-speciality medical entrance exam conducted in a computer-based mode for 2.5 hours or 150 minutes. There are 15 groups or super-speciality subjects that are tested, and candidates have to choose their question paper groups during the application process. The papers are scheduled in such a way that there is no clash of exam dates or slots. There will be a total of three sections in the paper, carrying 50 questions. The sectional time limit for each section is 50 minutes. NBE had introduced the sectional time limits last year, and this pattern is being followed this year as well.

No. NBE doesn't send NEET SS admit card on email. Candidates have to download the admit card from the official website, nbe.edu.in. Candidates are informed through SMS/Email alerts and website notice regarding availability of the admit card on the official website. Candidates do have to affix firmly their the latest passport size photograph in the space provided on the admit card. The photograph should be coloured with white backround.
