What is JEECUP exam?

The UP Polytechnic exam, commonly referred to as the JEECUP exam is conducted by the Joint Entrance Examination Council, UP. The exam is held annually in online mode for admission to the participating polytechnic institutes of the state. Through JEECUP 2026, candidates can get admission to Technology, Engineering and Pharmacy courses. The exam tests the students' aptitude and knowledge in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Eligible candidates must qualify the exam and participate in the counselling for admission.

The correct responses to the question paper are available through the provisional JEECUP answer key. Candidates can use the answer key to calculate their probable scores on the test. The authorities also allow students to raise objections to the JEECUP answer key. For every objection, candidates have to pay Rs 100 through net banking/credit card/debit card. The fee will be refunded only if the objection is accepted by the authorities. After all of the objections are checked, the authorities will release the final JEECUP 2026 answer key. 

JEEC, UP will release the JEECUP result online. The details regarding the obtained scores and ranks in the examination are available through the rankcard only. To check the result, students need their application form and password. Qualified candidates can participate in the counselling process. The JEECUP result 2026 will include:

• Candidate’s name. 

• Roll number. 

• Date of birth. 

• Marks obtained. 

• Rank secured. 

• Caste category (if applicable). 

• Key points related to JEECUP 2026 result. 

The authority will conduct the JEECUP 2026 counselling in online mode on the website, jeecup.admissions.nic.in. Candidates have to fill in their choice of colleges and courses in order of preference. Separate choice-filling will be available for each round of the JEECUP counselling. The JEECUP 2026 seat allotment result will be announced online. Candidates will have to log in with the required credentials to access it. Seat allotment is based on the candidate's rank, preferences, and availability. 

JEECUP 2026 Reservation Criteria

As per the UP Government rules, the candidates belonging to reserved categories are eligible for a seat. These categories are:

1. Vertical Reservations:

• Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of General Category - 10%
• Other Backward Classes (OBC) if they belong to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) - 27%
• Scheduled Castes (SC) - 21%
• Scheduled Tribes (ST) - 2%

2. Horizontal Reservations:

• Persons with Disability (PwD) (minimum 40% disability) - 5%
• Freedom Fighter - 2%
• Ward of Military personnel - 5%
• Female Candidate - 20%

The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh, has concluded the JEECUP registration. The last date to submit the UP Polytechnic application form 2026 was May 20.  As part of the application process, candidates had to register themselves, fill in the details, upload the documents, pay the fee and submit the form. The authorities have announced the JEECUP registration fee 2026. The application fee can be paid via net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI, or eChallan. The authority has issued the JEECUP admit card for all groups. To download the JEECUP hall ticket, students must log in with their application number and password.
