JoSAA 2023 Cutoff OUT Round 1 Live Updates: The JoSAA counselling 2023 is going on. The JoSAA counselling 2023 registration ends on July 4, and the last day to respond to a query is July 5, 2023. The authority released the JoSAA 2023 seat allotment result and cutoff for Round 1 at josaa.nic.in. Those candidates who have registered for the counselling round can check the list via the official website of JoSAA and also through the direct link provided below. JoSAA 2023 Counselling: How to check JoSAA Seat Allotment Result 2023?
Candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps to check the JoSAA seat allotment result:
- Visit the official website i.e. josaa.nic.in.
- Click on the “View Seat Allotment Result” link.
- Enter JEE Main/JEE Advanced 2023 application number, password and security pin.
- Click on “Login”.
- JoSAA 2023 seat allotment results will be displayed on the screen.
- Download the allotment letter and take a printout.
Those candidates who have registered for JoSAA 2023 counselling will obtain seats in any of the IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Other GFTIs. No other agency but JoSAA 2023 is responsible for joint seat allocation to the seats at the IITs or NIT+. Also, candidates are allotted B.Tech. or B.Arch. seats based on their rank, choices opted for programmes and colleges, and availability of seats. Seats allotted to the candidates during the JoSAA 2023 seat allotment round will have a Freeze and Float or Slide option. If a candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat, he or she needs to choose the freeze option, if not, he or she can opt for either Float or Slide option.

Candidates appearing for subsequent rounds can check Round 1's closing and opening ranks institute-wise on this page and download the same. The JoSAA cutoff is determined based on several factors, including the ranks of the candidates applying for the institute, the total number of seats available, etc.
To check the JoSAA Cutoff 2023, candidates need to follow the below-mentioned guidelines:
- Go to the official website at josaa.nic.in.
- On the homepage, navigate and click on the “eServices” option on the homepage and then select the “OR- CR 2023” option.
- A new page will be displayed on the screen.
- Now select round, institute type, institute name, academic programme, and seat type/ category.
- Now, click on the “submit” button.

What is JoSAA?
JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate joint seat allocation for admissions to over 100 institutes including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admissions to all these institutes will be done through a single platform. Candidates who qualify for the JEE Main or JEE Advanced must register for JoSAA 2023 to participate in the counselling and admission process for various renowned engineering institutes across India. The admission process for admissions in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs, and 28 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) is managed by The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

Can I get NIT with 95 percentile in JEE Main?
It is possible for you to secure a seat in an NIT (National Institute of Technology), although it may not guarantee your preferred branch or institute. If your percentile is above 96%, your chances of getting into a respectable NIT increase, but you may need to compromise on your branch selection. However, if you aim for a decent NIT with a preferred branch in the core field, you would need to score above 97.5%. On the other hand, if your goal is to get admission to a top college with the CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) branch, your score would need to be higher than 99.4%.

Physical Verification: For NIT + System
- Physical verification process starts from the first day of JoSAA 2023 choice filling, and continues through the counseling rounds of JoSAA 2023. Each JEE (Main) 2023 qualified PwD candidate is required to complete this process latest by the end of the counseling round in which they are allocated a seat (if any), failing which the allocated seat shall be canceled.
- Before candidates come for physical verification they are required to register on the JoSAA 2023 portal.
- Candidates are required to choose one reporting center in NIT+ System (for physical verification), date, as well as time (FN/AN) using the link available on the JoSAA 2023 portal before coming for physical verification.

JoSAA Counselling 2023 Live: Detailed seat matrix for IIT admissions
There is a marginal increase in the number of seats from last year. This year, a total of 17485 seats are up for grabs in all 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), including 1692 supernumerary seats for female candidates. Last year, there were a total of 16598 seats in IITs, including 1567 female supernumerary seats.

Round 1 Cutoff OUT 2023: About Floating, Freezing and Sliding
Floating: If the candidates wish to accept the allotted seat but are also open to upgradation and admission to higher preferred institutes or courses, then they will have to select this option.
Freezing: Candidates will have to select this option if they are satisfied with their allotted seat and do not wish to participate in further rounds of counselling.
Sliding: The candidates who choose this option will confirm their allotment but will also be open for admission into a higher preferred course in the same institute.

Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) frames the policies and norms for seat allocation to NITs, IIEST, IIITs and Other-GFTIs. It also frames the rules and policies for seat allocation for CSAB special vacant seat filling round(s) including CSAB supernumerary counseling and CSAB NEUT counseling.

Is 35000 refundable in JoSAA?
According to the rules of josaa - if a candidates seat is cancelled then the seat acceptance fees will be refunded after deducting the JoSAA processing charges of Rs. 2000.

Is JoSAA free of cost?
General/Open category candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs 35,000, whereas SC, Gen-PwD, ST, OBC-NCL-PwD, ST-PwD and SC-PwD have to pay Rs 15,000 through e-challan or through SBI net banking. The fees will be included in the semester fees once students confirm their admission.

IIT Bombay CS Cutoff closed at AIR 291: Check Opening and closing ranks for IITs, NITs here
A girl who secured AIR 291 in JEE Advanced has got admission in the Computer Science branch at IIT Bombay. As per news, students with 15819 rank and 24 thousand 180 rank students due to a 20 percent quota were allotted to the interdisciplinary branch of IIT Dharwad. This branch only started last year. This year, the closing rank from the gender neutral pool quota of NIT was alloted at AIR 7 lakh 42762 and AIR 7 lakh 58 thousand 764 from the female pool quota alloted to the mechanical branch of NIT Mizoram from the home state quota.

What is the minimum rank for JoSAA Counselling?

JoSAA 2023 Counselling: Why was there 7 Rounds in JoSAA?
There is not mush big difference in Round 6 and Round 7 Councelling under JoSAA. This extra online round also known as spot Councelling which is counducted if the seats remains vacant after the 6th round of Councelling. To fill up only those vacant seats, JoSAA conducted 7th round Councelling.

The candidate is provided with an option called "float" for JoSAA counselling 2023. This option basically allows a candidate to apply for the next round and keep the seat allotted to them on float or on hold. So, if the candidate gets a better seat in next round, then the seat which was on float can be dropped.

What if I don't get any seat in JoSAA Round 1?
If you are not allotted a seat in the first round of JoSAA you do not need to reapply or submit a separate application form for the second round of counselling. Once you have registered for JoSAA your application remains valid for all subsequent rounds of counselling.

JoSAA Counselling 2023: Is a domicile Certificate required for admission to NITs?
For joining IIT/NIT/IIIT through JEE, candidates are not required to provide a domicile Certificate. It is only NIT where admission is offered against the Home State quota and it is not determined on the basis of the state to which you belong but on the basis of the state in which you appear for your 12th board exam. The domicile Certificate is not required during JoSAA counseling. The candidates are given admission based on their JEE score.

The primary difference is that, after the conclusion of JoSAA counseling rounds, CSAB conducts two additional special rounds of seat allocation. IITs are not considered by CSAB, but IIITs, NITs, GFTIs, and other colleges are.

AND
satisfies the “Performance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination”
Criterion III
Secured a rank in JEE Main 2023 Paper-1 for BE/BTech Programs at NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and Other-GFTIs.
AND
Must have passed Class XII (or equivalent) examination* with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects. Further, the candidates should have passed each of the subjects individually.
Criterion IV
Secured a rank in JEE Main 2023 Paper-2 for BArch/BPlanning programs at NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and Other-GFTIs.
AND
has Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class XII (or equivalent) examination* AND
should have passed each of the subjects individually.

- On the homepage, navigate and click on the “eServices” option on the homepage and then select the “OR- CR 2023” option.

JoSAA 2023 Counselling Live: Regarding Payment Completion
For candidates who have been allotted a seat in Round 1 and their Seat Acceptance Fee(SAF) payment is pending / incomplete then it is mandatory to pay the fees as The Online Reporting: fee payment/document upload/response by the candidate to query (if required) for Round-1 will be closed on July 04, 2023. If you will not be able to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) and upload the relevant documents by July 04, 2023, your allotted seat will be canceled and you will not be considered for further rounds of JoSAA 2023 counseling. Therefore, it is advised to follow the timelines strictly and provide sufficient time for document verification.

IIT-Bombay remains first choice for top rankers in JEE-Advanced
According to the news, IIT-Bombay has once again emerged as the first preference of the IIT aspirants, with 89 of the top 100 on the JEE-Advanced merit list opting for it and 67 of them bagging the seats. Six candidates opted for IIT-Delhi and 23 got the seats; four chose IIT Madras and nine were taken in. All top 10 all-India rankers, like last year, wanted admission to IIT-Bombay and got the seats there. Last year, 93 of the top 100 candidates had chosen IIT-Bombay as their first preference and 69 made the cut.
