IIM Lucknow hosts 39th Convocation Ceremony, Grants Degrees to 811 Graduates

IIM-L 39th Convocation: The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) celebrated its 39th Convocation Ceremony, conferring degrees to 811 students across various management programs. The ceremony was held on March 31, 2025, with N Chandrasekaran, Chairperson of the Board of Governors at IIM Lucknow, and Professor Archana Shukla, Director of IIM Lucknow, presenting the degrees to the graduates. Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, Founder & Chairperson of Narayana Health, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered the convocation address.

Keynote Address by Dr Devi Prasad Shetty: Paving the Way for Innovation and Efficiency

In his inspiring address, Dr Devi Prasad Shetty emphasized the importance of innovation and efficiency in traditional industries. Reflecting on the need for transformation, he stated, “Many sectors still operate as they did decades ago, and adopting automation, digital solutions, and restructuring can drive progress by improving efficiency and accessibility.” He also underscored the role of young professionals in recognizing inefficiencies and offering innovative solutions directly to communities, leading to greater accessibility and impact. Dr. Shetty called on graduates to “challenge outdated models and think differently,” highlighting that the future of sustainable and scalable solutions lies in technology, efficiency, and innovative approaches.

N Chandrasekaran's Message: Embracing Change and Leading with Integrity

During his speech, N Chandrasekaran, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, shared his insights on the opportunities awaiting the graduates in a rapidly evolving world. “You are stepping into a world of immense opportunities, where rapid advancements in AI, blockchain, and digital technologies are reshaping industries,” he noted. He encouraged the graduates to embrace change, push boundaries, and lead with integrity, urging them to become leaders who not only excel in their fields but also inspire transformation in the industries they enter.

He also highlighted IIM Lucknow’s progress, including its global ranking improvements and the establishment of the Center for Blockchain Technology, underscoring the institute’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence.

Professor Archana Shukla, Director of IIM Lucknow, presented the Director’s Report, expressing pride in the achievements of the graduating cohort.
