IIM Ranchi inaugurates Management Development Programme for PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas

One of the central focuses of the IIM Ranchi MDP is integrating emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), into education. The programme will also delve into managing curriculum design in accordance with the New Education Policy (NEP) and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset within school communities.

IIM Ranchi recently inaugurated a five-day Management Development Programme (MDP) aimed at enhancing the leadership and management capabilities of principals and vice-principals from PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) in the Patna region. The programme, which is being held from November 19-23, 2024, seeks to equip school leaders with the necessary tools to navigate contemporary educational challenges and promote holistic development within their institutions.

The inaugural session was marked by a keynote address from Professor Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director of IIM Ranchi. Professor Srivastava emphasized the critical role of effective leadership in shaping the future of education. He underscored that this MDP is designed to offer participants a hands-on learning experience, which will empower them to implement forward-thinking strategies and manage diverse stakeholders more effectively in their schools.

Comprehensive Curriculum for Transformative Leadership

Professor Amit Sachan, Dean of Executive Education at IIM Ranchi, extended a warm welcome to the participants, appreciating their commitment to professional growth despite their demanding roles. He provided an overview of the MDP’s objectives, stating that the programme would focus on practical leadership skills that could be immediately applied in their day-to-day responsibilities.

Professor Sachan was joined by Programme Directors, Professor Santosh Kumar Prusty and Professor Krishna Kumar Dadsena, who will be leading the sessions throughout the programme. The comprehensive curriculum is designed to address a wide array of topics crucial for transformative leadership, including strategic leadership, innovation culture, entrepreneurship, performance management, branding, and financial leadership.
