SBI Clerk Result 2025: Understanding the Tie-Breaking Policy
In cases where two or more candidates secure the same overall score in the main examination, the SBI follows a structured tie-breaking policy to determine the final merit ranking. The tie is resolved through the following sequential criteria:
- Category Preference: Candidates belonging to reserved categories: such as Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD/PH) are given preference in the merit list.
- Accuracy-Based Evaluation: If the tie remains unresolved, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers across all sections of the exam is given a higher rank, emphasizing accuracy.
- Age Seniority: In the event the tie still persists, the candidate who is older is ranked higher, recognizing seniority as a final determining factor.
