UGC NET June Notification 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the UGC NET notification 2025 for June session between mid-April to early May, with the exam likely to be held in late June or early July. However, the exact date and time for the release of the UGC NET 2025 June notification is yet to be confirmed by the officials. The UGC NET June notification can be downloaded online by visiting the official website: ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
Along with the release of notification, the UGC NET application form 2025 link will also be activated. Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements can fill out the UGC NET June 2025 application form at the NTA official website. The UGC NET application process is divided into five key stages: registration, application form submission, uploading of photograph and signature, payment of application fee, and downloading the confirmation page.
UGC NET 2025 June Notification Date
Based on previous trends, the UGC NET notification for the June cycle is typically released by May. For June 2025, the UGC NET notification is expected to be released between mid-April and early May. Given that the UGC NET 2025 exam is usually scheduled 4 to 6 weeks after the release of the notification. This leaves candidates with a relatively short window to complete the application process and prepare for the exam.
UGC NET 2025 June Age Limit
To be eligible for the NTA UGC NET Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), candidates must not exceed 30 years of age. However, there is no upper age limit for applying to the post of Assistant Professor. Candidates belonging to reserved categories are granted a relaxation of up to five years in the age limit for JRF eligibility.
UGC NET 2025 June Educational Qualification
As per the December notification, candidates must have completed a four-year undergraduate degree or be in their final year of study. Additionally, they should hold a postgraduate degree from a UGC-recognised college or university. A relaxation of 5% in the required educational qualifications is provided to candidates from reserved categories. Those who cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) before June 1, 2002, are exempted from appearing for the UGC NET exam.

The candidates need to qualify for both papers that are paper 1 and paper 2 in order to be eligible to qualify for the UGC NET exam. The candidates have to score a minimum of 40 per cent marks (Unreserved category) and 35 per cent of marks to qualify for the UGC NET exam. However, among the candidates crossing the minimum qualifying marks, the top 6 per cent of the candidates will be made qualified for the Assistant Professor.

No. Candidates are required to appear in both UGC NET Paper 1 and Paper 2 to qualify for the exam. Candidates need to pass both exams separately to be considered for the position. Qualifying marks category-wise are mentioned below:

For PWD/SC/ST/OBC Non-creamy layer and Transgenders: 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together
