- SC/ST category candidates should have secured 50 per cent in aggregate.
Eligibilty Criteria for AIIMS BSc (Post basic)
- To appear in the BSc (Post basic) nursing exam, candidates possessing a Diploma in GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) from any Indian Nursing Council recognised institution are eligible to apply.
- In addition, the applicant must have registered themselves as nurses or midwives with the State Nursing Council.
- A mandatory six months of training as a registered nurse.
No, all colleges issue a different cutoff score for admission to the AIIMS BSc nursing programme. Candidates will be allotted a college on the basis of the cutoff score in the written exam and performance in the interview round. Candidates will have to check the cutoff score of each institute individually to participate in the counselling process.
AIIMS BSc Nursing Age Requirements
AIIMS mention the age criteria in the prospectus only. As per the official prospectus, the candidate must have attained 17 years of age, calculated as on December 31 of the admission year.
There is no upper age limit. It implies that females of any age can compete in the exam.

(Post-Basic) Nursing differ from the Hons. programme, since this is a bridge course meant for already-qualified nurses:
• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
• Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognised institution.
• Registration with a State Nursing Council is compulsory.
• 17 years of age as on December 31 of the admission year, with no upper age limit for most categories.
• Both male and female candidates are eligible for the Post-Basic Course, unlike the Hons. course, though candidates should confirm this in the current bulletin.
• Selected candidates for Post-Basic Nursing also go through a personal interview or assessment round, in addition to the written entrance exam, before final admission is confirmed.
